A darker spin on John Lennon's "Imagine"
"You may say I'm a dreamer... but I'm not the only one."
I actually like this version better than Lennons. This is coming from someone who is a big Beatles/Classic rock fan and who generally dislikes APC's music/genre.
My thoughts exactly other than the part about disliking APC. I feel like APC's spin gave the song a more "proper" tone to go along with the theme of the song.
Actually, the "feel" I get from the APC version contradicts the message. I get a sorta contemptuous feeling from the APC version. This may be why I like it, I'm a "feeling" person and never pay attention to lyrics
To whoever posted Kurikinton fox: Bravo, "The decisive battle" is an awesome cover, along with "Clash on the big bridge".
I'd recommend checking out lonlonjp on youtube, he does a lot of FF covers, albeit on a classical guitar
I instantly thought of worst covers and in particular Avril Lavines rendition of SoaDs Chop Suy...>.> eeee
but for awesome
I like this better than the original../cough
I love APCs Imagine too but I still love its original, those ones you almost have to think of as 2 different songs.
the Toxicity cover on page1 was awesome. My dad hates SoaD and I should too because they got terrible singing voices if we want to call them back but seeeee theres a melody under that.
Johnny Cash gave that song alot more of a melody, it gives me chills. I only listen to the NiN version when it comes on the radio (which is only ever a live version and I hate live versions..does NiN have a CD version?) because I like JCs version.
I agree with you Kat, Manson didn't do too bad w/ that song at all.
I have to admit, I'm extremely biased because The Nightmare Before Christmas is my all time favorite movie. I enjoyed the way Manson played around with his voice to still give it the sound like it was different characters singing like it was in the movie, but all the while keeping his own spin on it so you knew it was Manson.
I'm honestly not even a Manson fan, but I thought he did the song justice.
The Nightmare before Christmas is one of the best movies of all time, just saying :P Manson did an excellent job keeping the feel of the song right while making it his, and I'm no big fan of his.
@Eagleeyes, I'm a huge fan of Interstella 5555 Daft punk in general rocks, lol.
Another of my favorites the prior post is Freshman by the Verve Pipe covered by Mustard Plug and this is The Police's Man in a suitcase covered by Goldfinger.
Simply amazing! ^^ I love John Lennon a lot but I ended up preferring this cover.
I <3 you. Thought I had the whole collection of Deftones including B-Sides & Rarities along with their cover of Drive by The Cars (had to buy the clean version of SNW on itunes to get it -.-) but it looks like there was a lil more to be found. Thank you for finding such an awesome and rare song.

Haha no problem! I found this version by pure luck a few years ago, I did not know they recorded a track for "Instant Karma: The Amnesty International Campaign to Save Darfur"!(on iTunes bonus tracks) And what an awesome cover it is, when I think cover I think about this one lol.
One of my favorite punk rock cover bands... that's all they do is covers, and they've got a TON of material. Band comprised of members from higher profile bands such as NOFX, Lagwagon, No Use For A Name, Foo Fighters, and Swingin' Utters.
