A friend of mine who shares heavy nostalgia for stuff from the early '00s just introduced me to a new artist whose entire theme is to capture the audio and visual styles of that brief era.
It's like booting up PlayOnline for the first time all over again. YouTube Video Placeholder

Take a day once in a while and get out of our loops and find something new! Used to be we were prisoners of traffic and the car radio, and new music had a captive audience. Now, we all can huddle in our comfort zones and its having massive effects on all forms of entertainment...music was just the first to feel the effects (don't worry, movies are not far behind such aggregation). So, if you truly love music, take a listen to something completely outside your norm. Mess with spotify and iTunes's algorithms. And maybe discover something wonderful. Offline

That's my life. I listen to so much stuff. Finding random unknown music is the best. YouTube Video Placeholder
YouTube Video Placeholder Just discovered this artist. This song in particular does a great job featuring his pitch range - way down into his signature deep bass - plus flavours the song with his natural accent. Offline

Two versions of the same song, both are good. Spoilered one has some Danish lyrics:

YouTube Video Placeholder from Andy Akiho's larger work "Seven Pillars" for percussion ensemble, paired with improv body movement. Yes, the "instrument" you see here being played is the actual garbage dump drumset that the soloist built over 8 months of sound testing random junk. Andy spent over a year traveling to sub-Saharan tribes studying what they used for instruments in a desire to deconstruct "classical music" away from tuxedos, expensive instruments, and training in an attempt to show how music truly is egalitarian- its just us that make it stuffy and upper crust. RIP Taylor Hawkins...
YouTube Video Placeholder That's a shame.

Random unknown music and more emo? I shall deliver for the horde, a theme most fitting.
