Do merits give points? If not you should make it happen! maybe a set number of achievement points per merit?
Edit: Also since this new Equip History has been implemented, maybe points for big ticket Rare/Ex items such as AF2/Body Abjurations/Ridill/Etc as well?

The merits are unverifiable, therefore they wont go towards achievement points. As for the equip history, not for now.
