Unity Trusts

Just came back from a pretty lengthy hiatus and I noticed that Invincible Shield is the #1 Unity. Is this just because of the RMT or is he some sort of secretly awesome Trust?

If he is secretly awesome, what are some of your other "hot take" Trusts?

Also, what are some of your favorite Trust combos?

Top unity is an RMT thing, yes, they're all useless (the melee), they're not being used, it's just for the accolade increase.

You'll see mostly sylvie, apururu and yoran. Apu doesn't hold a candle to yoran though aside from maybe very few occasions where AoE curing is necessary but even then apu will run out of MP too fast. /slap apu users is the only reasonable reaction.

I haven't used Pieuje much but I guess he can be decent for status removal and when you need auspice for TP denial if he can survive up close.

I've tried Naja and Ayame, you can make them work as skillchain partners vs low to maybe mid tier apex mobs for job points. They gain TP pretty fast but you'll need to buff their ACC with a stewpot and cheer if you're job doesn't provide some sort of -EVA or +ACC. Naja holds TP till someone has 1k while ayame (UC) attempts to close your SC but I found with the right WS you could 3+ steps with her.

Since you're stuck with UC trusts for a week I think I've never picked any of the others so can't comment on them but I suppose if for example invincible shield was a amazing tank we'd have heard about it by now.

I used to use him a long time ago before I had Monberaux. Misery + Esuna was really nice for dealing with AoE debuffs. To be honest, once I get Ygnas I'll probably drop Yoran and try him again.

Edit: It should be noted that I play most things safe and have more healing than I need.

it really depends on what jobs you play and what other trusts you already have access to, also if you solo/duo/trio regularly. I have regular access to a geo so sylvie loses something for me personally. monberoux ends up being superior to other healers so long as you're not taking a lot of aoe damage.

my typical setup of koru, ulmia, jochiem or qualtada. then a healer if I'm on a DD, usually monberoux. my current unity is yoran so I'll throw him in for the daily points, then swap out for someone like shantottoII for MB when I 'm skillchaining.

on the rara chance i need a tank, I 'll swap between AAEV if i need a proper tank, val if I'm doing low lever stuff cause he cleaves things, ot the RUN (always forget the name) if I'm doing something with a standard type of magic damage.

certain things benefit from seth, lilisette 2, ferrous coffin, things like domain invasion or random exp parties where someone dies and there's no raise.
