Generation of Avg Player
All over the internet for some reason this forum's humor is more closely aligned with my humor. I'm a late Gen Xer, so my guess is so is most of you, as well as some early Millennials. Thoughts? Discussions? How old are you?

Your last post was in May 2025, and before that 2010? ...Who are you trying to doxx ...and why do you want to lurk behind their home's garbage cans? 39
I'm guessing the 3 sigma bell curve would put most players in the 35-45 range (roughly, give or take a year or 2) (maybe more like 2-2.5 sigma i dunno)
with a smaller chunk being within about a 5 year chunk on either end (i'm in the older portion here). Guessing there's more players over 50 than under 30. (and I'd guess most players under 30 probably play with their parents!) Anecdotally the players ages I know seem to fit that profile, but its a guess. (i'd say 99% of the players were probably 15-30 years old in the hey day of CoP - ToAU era 2004-2008 timeframe) But this is a wild guess on my part, but I would say older millenials are the largest group (probably followed by younger millenials and then younger gen-X) This the equivalent of a/s/l, so that should tell you my age range at least

Decently powerful, just too heavy as typical of Ford's Great movie too. what about generation of awesome players?
If you're playing FFXI then there's a pretty good chance you take Advil daily.
Don't take Advil daily. It's bad for your internal organs if taken too often!
And a lesser known fact is that it's also bad for your ligaments. Particularly your shoulder joints. But yeah, prolonged use causes your ligaments to wear down more quickly. Ric Flair took advil daily to make the blade jobs look better. Wooooo
Hes also a bit nutzo but thats what happens when youre a jet flyin, limo ridin, kiss stealin sonofagun. Woooo Asura.Vyre said: » Don't take Advil daily. But yeah, prolonged use causes your ligaments to wear down more quickly. That's fair. Whatever pain killer that won't kill you early.** I used to take Advil a lot. Then I listened to a couple doctors and high level athletes on (trigger warning) Joe Rogan and they changed my mind. As I quit taking it 4-7 times per week, my headaches went away. After about a month of not taking it, I barely ever need it anymore. I've been off it for years.
Alcohol was another huge contributor for my perceived need for Advil. My body doesn't know what to do with that stuff anymore. I honestly don't miss it. As someone who lived on OTC pain killers, alcohol, nicotine, caffeine, fast food & sleep meds in my 20 & 30s.
I have less aches and pains now than I did when I was younger & abusing my body; tips: Quite drinking. Stop smoking. Drink water (lots of water), tea & 1 cup of black coffee in the morning. Stop eating ultra refined & processed foods with high sugar, salt & fat. Get on a decent sleep schedule & keep electronics out of your bedroom (phones, TVs, tablets, etc). At almost 50, I feel great. These are not things that happened over night; I took each step slow, 1 year at a time, over the last decade. The next step is to start getting aerobic exercise ~3-5 times a week. I can't handle alcohol anymore either. I drink one beer more than 4% and I feel wrecked the next day, much worse with scotch, rum, etc. It screws with my sleep too, like clockwork I wake up at like 4am and can't get back to sleep.
I do miss beer though, I started drinking Athletic Brewing and it's actually pretty good with some good variety. I'll still sometimes drink a low alcohol content beer, but only from a specific local brewery. Going to the gym regularly helps a lot too. I've been off the past few months due to a combination of respiratory illnesses that won't quit and time/stress (which is stupid), but I feel noticeably shittier and am getting rounder than I'd like again. With spring here, at least I can try to ride in the evenings with the upcoming time change and try to get back in shape again. We are all old enough that a thread asking how old we are turns into a "how to stop aches and pains" thread on page 1.
Great advice Otomis. I've been doing exactly the same things. The biggest one that has improved my life is getting off social media. These forums are the only place that I post/read anything. I don't doom-scroll any social media, I have an extension on my browser that hides comments on YouTube. I've eliminated all sources of outside influence on my thoughts and I have never felt so clear headed and present in my daily life. After healing your mind by removing social media, diet and exercise are the next important ones. Find a way to get exercise that isn't traditional exercise, you want to find something you enjoy doing. I personally really like using Virtual Reality, something like Beat Saber or FitXR. I've got heartrate data from 30mins on an elliptical vs 30mins of Beat Saber. They're so similar it's shocking and 30mins absolutely flies by in VR. |
