EP gain in Limbus strange or is it just me?
Doing Temenos 128 solo at the moment. I've noticed that sometimes the EP for a kill drops off signifcantly. As an example the EP in my last chain from Master Chain #1 to #8 is 342 > 349 > 133 > 362 > 138 > 376 > 143 > 389. It's not like it's a big deal or anything, I'm just confused if everything I'm killing is the exact same level why is there seemingly random dips in the EP gained? Perhaps this is just normal in EP calculation. Anyone know?
Are they really exactly the same level? /check them and see if they all are very tough or if some are IT or VT++ for example.

I suppose I'll check them to make sure there's nothing weird going on next time I'm in there, but everything should be the same level as they change to 128 when I aggro them since that's what my Temenos level was set to. They weren't aggro on to anyone else. Carbuncle.Nynja said: » What are you killing? I'm not 100% sure on this, but basically I've had a similar experience, and generally what causes the discrepancy is 1 of 2 things.
Either, the mobs were recently aggro'd by or claimed by someone with a higher Master Level than you, and the game though it resets their HP and level, still has them tagged as hit by an ML50. OR A character in your party is set to a lower Limbus level than you, and has aggro'd or gotten first action on them first, causing them to be a lower level than you have set on your main. I see the former situation whenever a multi-boxer or an actual party chains the whole zone to the porter. They kill what they need and go up. The mobs deaggro, and reaggro onto me at 135, but I get lower Exemplar because they were hit/touched by ML50s. I see the latter situation when I'm in a party with someone who forgot to switch their level back up, and they aggro something or pull instead of me. ya I noticed some strangely low exp the other day while duo, level synced to ML20 both set to 135, normally chaining 600-700 per kill depending on how high the chain was but was getting some 300s mixed in, I'm always careful not to fight anything someone else pulled.
I agree it seems to keep them tagged, sometimes for extended periods of time. Its possible that mobs dont reset until they go back to their spawn location and become aggressive again. Carbuncle.Nynja said: » I'm a little concerned why you needed to kill 8 weapons in north tower when it should only need 4. Were you getting the same clear credit on your bar with every kill? That's just on me. I omitted info I assumed wasn't relevant to type less at the time lol. Chain #3 to #8 was thos weapons. The 4 kills to start that chain was 4 kills on the previous floor. I don't remember what that even was at this point. This sounds pretty likely, although would the ML matter or would it be that someone set to 119 aggro'd them previously so I am randomly killing 119 equivalent in terms of EP gain. I suppose it would be easy enough to test. If I see it happen on a particular group of monsters I'll just stick around for fresh repops and keep killing them to see if I get it happens anymore. |
