Using ChatGPT 5.2 I wrote POLProcessCycler, a Windows-based multibox tool for intelligent tabbing between characters.

Primary Features:
• ONLY cycle through FFXI process, not Chrome, Discord, etc.
• Native controller support
• Choose which instances FFXI participate in cycling
• Setting the order in which they are cycled
• Hotkey support

Requirements:
Windows 10 or newer
.NET Desktop Runtime 10.x (x64)
Download: .NET Desktop Runtime 10.x (x64)

Usage:
Unblock the zip file from the properties menu and then extract.
Run PolProcessCycler.exe as administrator.
Controller and hotkey bindings are configured in-app.
Start/Stop as desired; Minimizes to system tray when closed.

Application: PolProcessCycler.zip

would be nice if you could assign a key bind for each character, which there already is an official addon for called switch_focus.

Can disregard I found out how to reorder them lol

This is great but it seems to only be able to handle up to 8 instances, any higher and it starts to force focus on every process its attached to causing it to not release the controller from any process it attaches to. It leads to hilarious multiple simultaneous inputs on all characters affected.

I don't wish this to sound harsh and it's great you take a perceived problem and looked for a solution. However, there are many tools for this sort of operation already aforementioned switch_focus addon is great.

But if this vibecoded application solves your problem, great.

Secondly, I wish when people use AI to write their application cause they don't know how to program, would offer the source code, especially if they expect people to trust their .exe files.

Edit: I noticed that you're linking the zip file to a github and for whatever reason zippped up (assumingly) the source into a zip in a git repo? Maybe you're new to Git.

Why even bother to comment if you have nothing nice to say? They didn't have to share this with anyone but chose to anyways. If it doesn't help you, then just move on. This isn't even constructive feedback. Go vent your issues with AI somewhere else.

Oh, I thought this was a forum? We are no longer allowed to share our opinions? No one forced you to reply.

You can post whatever you want, but when your "opinion" is just you whining about AI and insulting someone's work they are posting to share with the community, yeah, I had to share my own opinion too.

For the record, I'm not defending AI, I just think it's unconstructive and rude.

I think Meliora's feedback is perfectly reasonable. Using AI to make a 10th version of something that already exists then sharing it seems more driven by desire for praise than desire to fulfill a need. Source access is important when the binary is provided by someone you don't inherently trust, and that's also compounded by the likelihood the author doesn't know exactly what their application was doing.

That said, it was probably a bit premature. The feature set seems as good as any other option. The source is available (though it would be better to set up the Git repo properly or add a link to source in OP). They fully disclosed that it was made with AI. I briefly skimmed it and it doesn't seem like there's anything harmful in it, nor do I have any reason to doubt it works as advertised. This is the type of project AI can do reasonably well (no domain-specific knowledge, just using established windows APIs to perform a relatively simple task).
