Non-exhaustive list of some items I added:

  • SMN blood pacts need to be re-examined. Some are useless given current effects.

  • For new players, apart from the content progress guides or other things published, consider providing explanations of how basic stats work, ex: STR and Attack.

  • Make chocobo digging a visible skill and add better items.

  • HTBF Shinryu gear drops are abysmal

  • Consider adding Sortie related items in Ambu

  • Crystal clusters for login points

  • PLD Empy defect

  • etc.

Submitted my survey. I wonder if anything at all will come of it.

I don't know if it matters, but initially I put "since launch" for question #1 and the second question asked me what it would take to get me back. One of the options was a cheaper subscription.

I went back and answered truthfully and it skipped like 16 questions. Consider not being wholly truthful if you want to get to the actually valuable questions.

It's worth it to submit, can't sit and *** about things when they give an opportunity to provide some sort of feedback and suggestions survey.

Sure nothing may come of it, or perhaps very select things... but can't really complain about the state of things and keep your mouth shut when asked to submit your thoughts and opinions.

Put my 2 cents in.
I focused more on new quests/content to break up sortie monotony and pointed out their xiv player growth as a carrot that they could be cultivating by making it easier to mentor them while still leaving things a challenge/thrill via lv caps/synchs.
Touched on smn needing adjustments. Probably talked too much about thf. Mentioned rema ws could use some adjusting as certain ws have fallen severely behind to the point they won't even be used for skillchains.

I did it and asked for more storyline/reworks to Sortie/addition of upscaled old content with better rewards.

Also put in a word about how Trusts don't properly reflect enough of the jobs to inform new players of what jobs can do in a party vs. what's effective with trusts. / A lot of trusts are flashy trash.

I wanted to ask for quests and story over battle content but when you get right down to it... a storyline is, what, four hours of actual gameplay spread out over six months? Sure, it's the interesting stuff and it's great to see more, but it just doesn't have the staying power that a new battlefield does - even one that doesn't assume we can all no-life grind every day for five years.

Ooh, but could you imagine some kind of expansive content where instead of "go in, fight the things, get out", the gameplay loop centers on investigation and uncovering bits of an overarching story, unlocking more of the area as you hit plot markers? A bit like Sortie only with the puzzles explained out loud, and quests outside the battlefield unlocking things like the hall keys?

This forum is filled with sad retired/unemployed players, they yap in all threads, only few who has Great input that all of us know them. This Survey wil change things, as they listen to people complaining about Hardmode Aminon and stage4.

I just want continued support honestly, the stigma of a "dead" game really hurts any game when it comes to getting people to continue playing or start playing.

Still a ton of older content they can update, lot of niche reward items that would still be attractive to people. Scenarios/quest lines, high tier fights, ilvl versions of older content, new ambuscades (+3 gear/+1-2 rings/augments or whatever)

Of course none of it will come to pass but its nice to dream. If everquest was still able to churn out half assed expansions for all these years, FFXI can continue adding minor content.

I wrote a lot of long replies like several of you. There's still a lot they can do with the game, I am very doubtful that they will actually hear us out though.

In MMO kayfabe, no one should need a skip cutscene button. That implies that people play multiple characters or are getting banned and making a new character. We know both things are happening, but its not something they should admit to.

Considering that items are specifically made capable of being transferred to one's secondary characters, and that these items include quite a wide assortment of equipment, it seems fair to assume that it is Square-Enix's stance that players are not expected to solely play a single character. Maybe only one at a time, but there's plenty of legitimate reason to do story content a second or third time and not want to sit through a twenty minute cutscene again.

Off the top of my head... joining a friend on another server without transferring your old character which you may still use to play with friends on your original server.

A lot of people skip cutscenes even in normal RPGs. Returning players, and people like me who never bothered finishing some expansions, would love to get a skip button lol.

...or...people would rather play a game than watch a movie? Most games have it now...games that don't have multiple characters.

I asked this same thing, give an option when a cutscene starts to skip or watch and flag the account there to move forward.

Are you new to Final Fantasy? The story is an integral part of the game.
If you want a game with no story, go play CoD.

I’m not gonna lie, there have been quite a few new games where I’m mashing the “Skip” button because there is just too much expository dialogue and I just start saying “ok, ok, I get it” out loud lol

If you asked me what happened in TVR I honestly couldn't tell you other than it had something to do with an egg and Odin. Not all of them are equally worthy of my attention.

Then use enternity and fastcs.

How many events in this game have cutscenes longer than 10 seconds that repeat? Besieged, which is obnoxious, but the entire event is an obnoxious lagfest, and you can enter "late" to miss that cutscene.

You know whats more obnoxious than a 10 second cutscene? The cutscenes that break the client (that one quest in kamihr for the gloves), or cutscenes that break when using fastcs. Thats obnoxious.

The ASA cutscene in lower jeuno was very annoying though. Though, I believe they patched that one and made it a trigger.

Someone may have identified the cause of that recently, so we are actually looking at fixing that long standing bug!

not that most of us who have already done the problem cs care
