Probably SE checked how many stones were in player inventory, and calculated an estimate how much gil would be introduced in market if all would sell.
Then considered 4k+ would be too much for a single stone, so it cut down to 1k How the hell did npc sapphires and starstones for 1-1.5k gil make the version update headline? That has to be a new low in ffxi history... Next update - monthly updates to ambu and apple juice now npcs for 76 gil instead of 75 gil. Look forward to it

You could kill an enemy on a boundary to a map change and rarely get a floating chest (sometimes returns to the ground in time), or spawn two chests at once (usually the Aurum involved), and neither could be targeted for a while. These are just two examples I have come across, though.

You'd clear objectives in A B C or D to get the chest to spawn to fight the boss, but never got the key item when you opened it. That locked you out of two NMs that run, which also meant you couldn't fight Aminon either. It was a very rare occurance, but any time it happened it completely screwed over the run. |
