Playonline Viewer Flicker

I just got a new laptop and finished installing FFXI. The game runs fine, but the Playonline viewer has this annoying flicker. It happens even just running vanilla. Any help with fixing this? I'm not sure where to even begin diagnosing it.

Are you using dgvoodoo or any other dx8 wrapper?

If yes, could be some settings?

If no, I would use one. I personally would use dgvoodoo.

I am using dgvoodoo. Does it do anything to the POL viewer? I was not sure if it did because the watermark does not show up, so I didn't try messing with it.

I removed the dgvoodoo extension from the POL folder and it still does this.

Try changing the size of the pol window, try turning dgvoodoo logo branding on, could also be some video card driver issue.

I spent way too long trying to solve this when i got my new laptop... I *think* its something to do with refresh rate and the GPU - when I set my screen refresh rate to 60hz (instead of the default 240) and set the GPU to be used always, it went away, BUT that means you cant use a 2nd monitor, because as soon as you plug one in nvidia optimus kicks in and POL flickers again. I ended up just living with it :/
