If Horizon Had A $1 Monthly Fee

The conversations about content are funny to me, as if there's a right and wrong answer. WoW classic has been incredibly successful because some people just like the pace and gameplay of the older version of the game more than the newer version. Who cares why, the fact is it's a reality. If you don't like the old game, keep playing retail. If you like the older experience, play 'insert private server'. Who cares what others like to do, bitching about it on here and trying to point out differences to sway someones opinion isn't going to accomplish anything.

I liked the leveling experience in classic, that experience isn't available in retail (no Draylo, ML/CP isn't the same thing as 1-75). Horizon had that experiecne, so I played it. Pretty simple really..

I *** hate private servers and think they are all brainwashed scum bags, but if you look at the Ninja clip he said "OMEGALUL IF i funded them". then starts laughing.

I mean I heard, "Omegawolf, I actually took care of the entire server this year, personally." Then he giggles, which could mean anything. I assumed the laugh meant "We don't have to worry about server costs now, haha!" or he was laughing at whatever Omegawolf said in the chat, or at something that happened in game, or any number of other things he could've been laughing about.

He's definitely not saying OMEGALUL IF. Listen for yourself

What he says is pretty clear as day. There was no "if" and there was no "funded" anywhere in there.

I am actually shocked horizons doesn't have their own version of Odoro ngl.

There are multiple NPCs in horizons that an 'Odoro' could occur near.

It really is the same, people just aren't doing it. Nothing stops you from teaming up to fight trash mobs, you even get"new"abilities as you level and spells. That aside, its a little strange someone finds exping fun, fighting trash mobs that are just mind numbing grinding over and over. Then waiting looking for group or a party disbanding when the healers leave... yikes.

Once again, as people can't get this thru their heads and is being repeated over and over, nobody is making a call to action. So everyone saying "leave them alone let them enjoy their pirated fake server! " just read lol. I'm not trying to sway them, my point of view is that it's a detriment to retail and i don't like it and now it's being brought here where i frequent. We are all leaving internet opinions, I don't have to be right but simply repeating "LEAVE DEM ALONE" isn't helping anything at all

Retail combat is too fast. Typing is a DPS loss. FFXI has mostly lost the social aspect.
In classic, combat was slow enough that you could have a meaningful conversation over the course of an exp party.

Draylo wouldn't know this, as no one has voluntarily had a conversation with him in years.

Honestly, if people weren't shitting up this thread so much beating a literal dead horse, the conversation would have died out and your safe space would be intact. You have to be smart enough to understand you're the one ensuring that the conversation remains ongoing.

It isn't the same, which is why I made a point to note it. Gearing up across levels, gaining new abilities, slower combat, actually using tanks, managing enmity, party compositions, zone choices, combat speed, WS choices, I could list an infinite amount of differences. The only point you're able to consistently make is 'I don't understand why people don't like/dislike the same things I do'. If you weren't trying to convince anyone of anything, you'd understand this fact and maybe even inquire or have a discussion about what things people prefer in their gaming experience rather than stating your preferences with a condescending 'haha what you like is dumb' tone. You're not going to talk anyone into finding ML parties enjoyable when they're literally telling you they don't enjoy it, and they'd prefer to level from 1-75 instead.

Anyone who's read your posts understands you're devastated to see and accept the curtains closing on a game you've loved for over a decade, so much so that you're leaning on conspiracies and whatever else to justify your rage. The reality is some people just like a different type of FFXI experience than you, and wether you like it or not, doesn't matter.

Draylo isn't trying to convince anyone of anything, he's just kvetching because there's a significant community of people out there who don't like the current state of retail. That's why he has to pretend that everyone enjoying private servers is being fake nice and having fake conversations and claiming that posting facts about retail is some sort of grand scheme to kill retail.

Current retail is boring and I'm surprised anyone finds it enjoyable to RMT 2/3 of the game, and not experience the other 1/3 because everyone else found it so boring they quit and there's hardly any people to actually play with.

Both are done via 99 > Job master > Mlvl50. Seems the same to me so far.


You are literally fighting trash mobs in both games that don't even last long. You aren't using a tank and managing enmity on every single exp party. I already see people using magic burns or soloing BST pets. This is such an antiquated way of assuming its a true exp party, just because it has a tank lol.


You can ML/JP on any job composition, there are tons of zones that higher level mobs were added to, WS choices? You are just saying things that make no sense. Are you saying its a difference (and implying a better one) because you have different WS to use? lol


I do think what they prefer is inferior, and truthfully we can see that result as being common because that server has nowhere near the population FFXI retail does from the combined servers. Not to mention its free, so active paying XI subs are in the majority and most prefer that.

Except "RETAIL" (god I hate having to say that now lol) is the real FFXI. It has been and will always be the only FFXI. If you supported retail and didn't ***on it and try to persuade people to your game, I wouldn't even care and would ignore it like every other one before it. The "conspiracy" things as you say are what elevated this server to having something of a population and that somehow makes you feel empowered. Once people quit there too I hope theres a "retail" for you to come back to.
