How does he avoid haunt?

? He got haunted in the first 3 seconds of the video, not sure what you mean.

Edit: might be curse not haunt, since it's being removed. He killed Nakara for the metal

Yeah I see holy water. I don't think it's haunt then.
Anyone farm up the metal that can confirm?

Metal turns haunt to curse, this has been known for ages, probably since days after the basement was released. Nakara has no requirements to get box, just kill him

Do you know if you have to kill the bhoot nm in C in order to trigger the aurum chest?
I was soloing sortie and as usual i go as BST as wide scan is wide enough to show me where the nm are and save me time.
I do all of A, then kill the pig in B, move to C and kill the bhoot in less than 5 min and finally D and the demisang.
The aurum coffer doesn't spwan.
So after a few seconds of "'the hell did i do wrong" i go back to C.
Guess what? the bhoot is right there again.
So i go back, kill it, and i get my aurum coffer.
Now, remember when i said i go BST so wide scan is wide enough to show me where the nm are?
Well, when i zoned into C to kill its NM the first time, i saw the bhoot was about to zone into B so i warped back to B and i killed it there.
So ghost nm died in B and not in C.
Is it possible that the ghost nm has to be killed in C in order for the aurum coffer to spawn?

Did you rematerialize the C mobs after you killed the Bhoot the first time? All NMs have to be dead at the same time for Aurum to pop.

F*ck
I did, yes, for that stupid chest lol
I didn't know rematerialize them would include the nm too.
That makes senses, thanks!

So.. idea. Installing FFXI On my new laptop and noticed that Tetramaster exist. Maybe the Sortie boss's stupidity level is linked to Tetramaster ranking? Would be the ultimate troll move.

@Mischief's group

Have you guys been doing the light dmg thing on Triboulex? Have you (or anyone) noticed it gaining the ability to use Last Laugh when using this mechanic?

I think Last Laugh is a less favored move than the others. Hard to test it though because you would need to fight it without any dia but I dont see why it would be tied to light dmg.

Even the vagary version, it just uses Last Laugh like when hes very close to die.

"Less favored" is an understatement and that being the only factor is unlikely. I've got logs going back to when Sortie released and I don't have a single recorded hit on Last Laugh from a Sortie Defiant, just Vagary ones. However I've now seen a few confirmed reports of Last Laugh from Triboulex, so something causes it. The defining factor seems to be either something related to melee setups or light damage. All of my runs have been mage oriented and the people reporting Last Laugh usage seem to be using melee setups.

Alright so this is an ancient question for this thread, but I just came back and trying to figure things out.

Are there requirements related to popping Casket B1 not listed on the wiki? This is the "Kill 3 Biune mobs within 30s of gaining enmity" one. I had gotten this yesterday in my run, but today it just would not occur. And I was absolutely killing within 30s of a pull (I dualbox THF+GEO, and I was killing a bunch of mobs before 3rd WS went off because of MB's). Is it only certain Biune elemental area mobs this works on?

How long did it take you once entering B to attempt the casket? I think there's also a hidden timer mechanic that locks you out of the chest if you don't fulfill the objective within a certain time. Also, I'm remembering that Casket B1 requires elemental WS damage to get the chest, regardless of if it is killed quickly. Did either of these conditions not get met on your run?

I wasn't in B long before attempting it, since the reason I was attempting the casket is to get the extra chest off porxie so the kill in time casket is kinda first priority. However I didn't do any elemental WS this time, and last run I started things by doing AE spam on THF (was chasing more objective-only this time) so guessing there is some elemental WS component?

It happened sometimes with me.

I would just keep killing, maybe the 4th or 5th kill is considered clean.

I was almost certainly at 10+ kills within the 30s threshold. I eventually figured I must have lost my mind and gotten it so went to clear the Porxie, who was in an Umbril section, and I pulled and killed like 8 Umbrils, all dying before 3rd WS, and without them casting things so no time lost there. And when I killed Porxie I didn't get the bonus chest so...never got the casket.

We've seen really inconsistent results with the B Blue chest from "kill within 30s of claim". On most runs, the WAR solos 1, DRK solos 1 and Cor kills 3 in under 30s but we don't always get it. On one of our strangest runs, we got it from the 5th mob to die which was the WARs, which was also the first pulled and alive for well over 90s from claim to kill. I think there is more to the objective, perhaps mobs needing to die within time of each other and not claim?

You're definitely on to something. We had a run where we pulled 3 or 4. I was multi-boxing and needed to sing so I slept them, stopped everything, and sang. And this wasn't a particularly quick set of songs. Not everybody was gathered and it took about a minute to get everything settled. We then engaged, and somebody even noted we'll never get the blue chest, but we still did on kill #3 despite them all having been pulled for some time.

Back to theory crafting, i dont do this obj anymore, but i remember that i used to resort to bursts to kill that fast, on umbrils.

While most of time consistent, i suppose there is some mechanism related to hate.

Maybe umbril cant change the first person in hate list. I said that because in a controlled strat like burst hardly there is any unexpected variation like a crit, skillchain, etc. so maybe the times i failed were due geo putting bubble before i stablishing hate, or sch nukes pulling hate too.

Those are the things that could go unexpected in a burst setup

Back to the topic of last laugh, today i went melee again, but my brd was subbing /THF by mistake, and he is the responsible to casting dia with TH.

I just casted once a dia from WHM, and thats it. It didnt used last laugh, but also there wasnt a whole lot of time for it to use.

Following the lore, last laugh was supposed to be its trumph card, the last resort. Vagary version at least only uses it when hes close to the end, though its a frigging liar because it uses other moves after last laugh if given time, it can use even another last laugh.

In that case, it would be just to say its using penultimate laugh, and not last, like this liar says

I had a situation a while back I vaguely remember where our group could NOT get this chest after about 15 minutes straight of killing monsters and someone later says "it's impossible to get that objective without like 15k+ magic damage, it's required. Use Leaden". I don't recall exactly if it's magic or specifically elemental WS damage, but I know since that time, I've never not gotten that chest by just closing a SC with Leaden. Takes 3-5 kills at most.

Have had this happen multiple times on melee runs. If I recall, was not bursting when trying for quick kills and just could not get the chest even after 10+ kills at under 30sec.

Tend to do SC, burst, then kill to get chest now. It may be related to time between kills also.

My group did Triboulex last night with mage setup and I noticed Last Laugh go off at least once during the fight. I was spamming Dia for the STS mechanic.

My group runs a mage setup. As we’ve unlocked some of the new primes for our other jobs what kind of accuracy requirements are there for a melee setup? Also, is a GEO, COR, BRD needed to hit attack cap to make Aria worth it? Thanks.

We routinely run without a GEO and are taking advantage of Aria. Other DEF downs definitely help solve the "must have GEO" problem.

Dia 3 (light shot), Armor Break/Ageha, box step.

With Madrigal and distract, acc isn't a problem for anyone, BRD included.

We do RDM BRD COR WHM DD DD. Have used SAM, DRK, WAR, but probably lots of other jobs are viable. We've also (accidently) done a couple runs with 2 COR and single DD.

Assuming Soul Voice Honor March and hybrid acc/att food like Grape Daifuku, you don't need Madrigal on top of Distract3. For E you should also be generally ok without SV too.

Back to the Last Laugh topic, today I went again, was hit by last laugh, which doesnt do much dmg, but then one of my chars just fell to the ground.

I had noticed this already with Palloritus, i think BG doesnt mention, but it seems like this move has a chance for death. effect. The char who fell to the ground didnt receive any dmg before falling to the ground
