yikes

Maybe you'd try Sky instead, only for it to take a week to pop Kirin and then there's 10 people ahead of you for the item you want. Let’s not forget running dynamis twice a week for “gear drops” that happened once a month if you were lucky while somebody else gets relics made off your hard work. Farming limbus to see one Homam pants drop per year and it going to the dude who has one job that can equip it that you’ve never seen them play. Oh yeah remember the esp parties where you had to wait for 2-3 minutes between pulls so the healer could /heal for MP? I’ll admit the game has become stale with the lack of new alliance content and having beat w3 50+ times, but in many ways the current form is much more fun than the olden days The misery of building sea pops only to not see a torque drop for months
My biggest beef with the current game (aside from stability/compatibility) is the last of more 7+ man content.
Vagary/Omen/DynamisD are it and well, kind of gets old. Still not sure which is more rare though: Omen bodies or Volte bodies... Probably Volte since they only just got added to AMAN :B

You might, but probably not. I used to keep track of omen body drop rates both in my personal experience and by reports of other people, and the drop rate came out to around 0.5% after tabulating roughly 4000 kills.

Yeah, never kept track overall but definitely haven't seen many. Less servers means less operating overhead, they could still decide to merge the bottom six servers into three and pretend it's a quality of life improvement for the players who liked playing on small servers. I'm all for a 75 server just so people who want to play can just go freaking play it.

It'd only take 21 parties of 6 to permanently lock down sandy and all but monopolize relics. Throw some same account mules in there and you can own the entire zone with only 8 POL IDs! Offline

For perspective: <-- Click server drop down Scroll to a dead server at the bottom Search for a common item from the 75 era (ie. shihei) I'm the only one who finds it slightly disturbing that they selected the patch date beyond maintenance mode when SE finally merged worlds and took servers offline as 'classic'? I also can't really figure out what the thing is with dunes nostalgia. Am I remembering this phase of the game incorrectly? I feel pretty confident that by this point in the game, we had moved away from traditional leveling parties for anything but merits and instead transitioned into 'book burn' groups. Gusgen mines replaced the dunes or am I tripping? SMN burning was a thing and I think highly controversial at that time, but I don’t remember those iconic Gusgen ally parties happening until post Abyssea. seemed like that was the entrance ramp to level 30 for Abyssea, at least from my experience

They weren't super common but they'd been going once level sync came into play, main issue was getting 2hr resets was a slog back then from memory
Dunes nostalgia was all like you get a party going after 2 hours, only to have your only mage die on a goblin aggro, have them HP back to Sandy, wait for them to run back because no tele available and no choco. Get them back to camp and 2 members have to leave because their mom needs the computer. Rinse and repeat that until you can get to Qufim.
I think SE would have been wise to temper expectations for the 20th anniversary. They never promised a big content drop but a lot of people are expecting something big and they’re gonna be really disappointed when all we get is a limited charge xp ring. After 20 years it’d be nice if they could try to be a little more transparent and let us in on their plans for the future of the game. It feels like the game is in a weird limbo where nobody knows if new content is going to pick up or slow down.

It's a milestone anniversary, just about every company does some PR for their milestone product yrs, people should be used to being oversold and temper their own expectations, especially considering past experiences.
Hard agree on the transparency though, start of the official forums was probably as transparent as it ever got and that was very short lived period Does anyone know of any streamer who will be following the announcements tomorrow and potentially be using a live translator?
Would have suspected that MrHappy might have done so but he's still progging the new fight in XIV so that isn't very likely
