I just download the retail Final fantasy xi download from here

Does anyone know if I can download the update files from somewhere and update the files? Because it gonna take 8 hours...

Considering if you downloaded those files and overwrote a current fresh install from SE you would be making your install even older, and thus making your install take longer, you don't need to use it at all.
