its because people can just google the cheat they want and get a file for it. For many/most, there is no difference between a gearswap .lua file and an addon designed to circumvent a game mechanic.

There is a huge difference in terms of detection between taco and a gearswap lua. Or anchor and battlemod. Or something that can sell to an NPC 50 yalms away and a minimap on your screen.

Knowing those differences is how you function with the advantages our fellow gamers have made for us via things like Windower and all it enables (and Ashita, much love to our .xml loving players as well)while staying "safe". Just because "its a lua" means absolutely nothing.

"lua" is just a ubiquitous term at this point.

The only difference between gearswap and easy farm is the movement. (if you want it to be set up that way)

I actually saw an "easy farm like" lua the other day.

no one was banned for the latter part of crafting exploits and several people have stored a lot of items

and thousands upon thousands of duped medals (items) still have not been removed from any non-banned accounts. They do a sloppy cleanup job, this is nothing new.

There's probably somewhere around a few hundred Aurgelmir Orbs+1 floating around several characters.

You're probably being facetious, but it's hard to tell because this is the internet, so I'll half-assedly answer: until you break into the C-Suite level jobs (the ones that profit share), you won't be raking in millions annually. The average computer engineer salary is around $140k to $250k+ contingent on experience, expertise, and area. Even with the addition of a signing bonus, total compensation is nowhere near the millions you're talking about unless you joined Amazon or Google in the 90's with stock options up the yang. Not sure how far along people that script/create LUAs are at in terms of CS and programming level, but the reqs for high level CS/engineering/AI/machine thinking/deep learning jobs are probably different than you think.

How this addon would work though? If its a bot that run all missions then it would be relatively safe. But if its some ***like client telling server "hey, i got all done" and the server "cool!" that would be something risk as *** to use it lol.

i've seen a train of 6 /anon face->keyboard tarus just recently in ru'lude garden near the magian trail moogles. i don't know what a bot would want their but they moved like on rails and i assume they were there for mission cutscenes.

Limit breaks possibly. Sometimes i see a bunch of them talking to maat. This is a business by itself. They dont need to actually work, they just need to get to 99 then the RMT can just sell it for a price, then the one buying can start the shady business.

A lua that ran through all of your missions for you would take a very long time to program. The item we are talking about would be the latter.

I doubt this very much. I am sure there is a way, to run through them legit a first go round, while recording mappings at the same time. Then just hit rewind and play, watch it for a few cycles, tweeks some settings. Boom done.

The biggest hurdle would be the movement pathing, and maybe an escort that can handle battles/agro.

Not that much longer than actually running through them a single time, if you organize your code decently and know what you're doing. There are probably a half dozen people who have created seperate versions of this by now, it's certainly very doable.

No, nobody is going to give their version out. It'd be completely stupid to do so.

It actually doesn't take a lot of time to copy and paste something. You could probably build a mission bot just from copy and pasting a bunch of the public addons found on github assuming you were starting from scratch.
