We have already established Obama and Holder did not come close to doing anything remotely similar to what Trump is doing to the DOJ. So that's out.

In case you hadn't noticed Holder is no longer at the DoJ.
That’s great?... But how is that relevant?

For anyone too lazy to click:

President Obama's Attorney General said:

"I’m still enjoying what I’m doing, there’s still work to be done. I’m still the President’s wing-man, so I’m there with my boy. So we’ll see," Holder said in an interview on the Tom Joyner radio show."

So this fake outrage over Barr is stupid.
How is this relevant?

So just so I got this straight..

Holder, a Obama appointee refuses to comply, testify or hand over documents to congress and he is a martyr...

Trump administration.. refuses to testify and hand over documents..OH WE MUST IMPEACH!

Do you realize how utterly stupid that sounds from the left?

Another completely false equivalency. Talking about Holder is getting you guys nowhere. Also, we aren't even talking about impeachment. We are talking about Trump inserting himself into ongoing criminal cases, something Obama, or any other President for that matter, never even considered doing.

Are you serious? Do you think Holder just held all that stuff and refused to testify because he felt like? Why do you think he withheld that incrimination evidence and refused to testify? Do you think he was told to do that or was he just protecting his and Obamas collective ***?

2012, Fast and Furious. The House voted him to be in contempt 255-67.

Oh yeah ok, thats tots the same as interfering in an ongoing criminal trial. Like we have all said, completely false equivalency. Deflection attempt goes down in flames.

There are about a bajillion ways to defy Congress, of course you're never going to have exact equivalency. However, it was bad enough that you had a fair number of Democrats backing the contempt charge. Better narrow those goalposts to nothing so that there's always going to be "false equivalency" no matter what the charge is, though.

If you’re going to go with equivalencies then you have to acknowledge that the Republican Congress under Obama and the Democratic Congress under Trump were hostile towards the Executive.

Though Democrats impeached Trump for what was essentially asking for help in his re-election, from a foreign government on a phone call. It wasn’t outraged over wearing a tan suit, mom jeans, Dijon mustard on a hamburger, saluting a marine while holding a cup of coffee etc etc.

Though all things being equal both opposing parties got a bone to pick about golf.

So, this still stands. Obama never interfered in any ongoing criminal cases, fullstop. The conversation has never been about Congress. It hasn't been about the AGs. We aren't talking about impeachment. Its been about the Presideny. The only ones that have moved the goalposts are the people trying to talk about Eric Holder. There is no comparing Trump's interference in a court of law with Obama's nonexistent interference. Stop deflecting.

Not handing over documents to Congress has never been the topic, (Holder never refused to testify, but thats completely irrelevant), you guys have tried, unsuccessfully, to compare Trump interfering in ongoing criminal cases to a Congressional investigation, two completely different things. I shouldn't have to point this out, but apparently I do, Congress is not a court of law.

Its been amusing to watch the incredible twisting you guys are attempting to make a failed comparison. No President, not Obama, not Bush, not Clinton, not Bush Sr, not Reagan, has actively interfered in criminal cases, as in, stuck there noses in a court of law, the way Trump has. Every reference to Eric Holder has failed. He is completely irrelevant to what Trump is doing right now.

Have the Democrats decided to do impeachment round 2 yet? I mean the first one gave so much ammunition for President Trump to use against the 2020 candidate, why stop there.

https://www.nytimes.com/2020/02/16/us/politics/barr-trump-justice-department.html

So this letter came out from DoJ alumni of both parties:

https://medium.com/@dojalumni/doj-alumni-statement-on-the-events-surrounding-the-sentencing-of-roger-stone-c2cb75ae4937

Quote:
We, the undersigned, are alumni of the United States Department of Justice (DOJ) who have collectively served both Republican and Democratic administrations. Each of us strongly condemns President Trump’s and Attorney General Barr’s interference in the fair administration of justice.

As former DOJ officials, we each proudly took an oath to support and defend our Constitution and faithfully execute the duties of our offices. The very first of these duties is to apply the law equally to all Americans. This obligation flows directly from the Constitution, and it is embedded in countless rules and laws governing the conduct of DOJ lawyers. The Justice Manual — the DOJ’s rulebook for its lawyers — states that “the rule of law depends on the evenhanded administration of justice”; that the Department’s legal decisions “must be impartial and insulated from political influence”; and that the Department’s prosecutorial powers, in particular, must be “exercised free from partisan consideration.”

All DOJ lawyers are well-versed in these rules, regulations, and constitutional commands. They stand for the proposition that political interference in the conduct of a criminal prosecution is anathema to the Department’s core mission and to its sacred obligation to ensure equal justice under the law.
And yet, President Trump and Attorney General Barr have openly and repeatedly flouted this fundamental principle, most recently in connection with the sentencing of President Trump’s close associate, Roger Stone, who was convicted of serious crimes. The Department has a long-standing practice in which political appointees set broad policies that line prosecutors apply to individual cases. That practice exists to animate the constitutional principles regarding the even-handed application of the law. Although there are times when political leadership appropriately weighs in on individual prosecutions, it is unheard of for the Department’s top leaders to overrule line prosecutors, who are following established policies, in order to give preferential treatment to a close associate of the President, as Attorney General Barr did in the Stone case. It is even more outrageous for the Attorney General to intervene as he did here — after the President publicly condemned the sentencing recommendation that line prosecutors had already filed in court.

Such behavior is a grave threat to the fair administration of justice. In this nation, we are all equal before the law. A person should not be given special treatment in a criminal prosecution because they are a close political ally of the President. Governments that use the enormous power of law enforcement to punish their enemies and reward their allies are not constitutional republics; they are autocracies.

We welcome Attorney General Barr’s belated acknowledgment that the DOJ’s law enforcement decisions must be independent of politics; that it is wrong for the President to interfere in specific enforcement matters, either to punish his opponents or to help his friends; and that the President’s public comments on DOJ matters have gravely damaged the Department’s credibility. But Mr. Barr’s actions in doing the President’s personal bidding unfortunately speak louder than his words. Those actions, and the damage they have done to the Department of Justice’s reputation for integrity and the rule of law, require Mr. Barr to resign. But because we have little expectation he will do so, it falls to the Department’s career officials to take appropriate action to uphold their oaths of office and defend nonpartisan, apolitical justice.

For these reasons, we support and commend the four career prosecutors who upheld their oaths and stood up for the Department’s independence by withdrawing from the Stone case and/or resigning from the Department. Our simple message to them is that we — and millions of other Americans — stand with them. And we call on every DOJ employee to follow their heroic example and be prepared to report future abuses to the Inspector General, the Office of Professional Responsibility, and Congress; to refuse to carry out directives that are inconsistent with their oaths of office; to withdraw from cases that involve such directives or other misconduct; and, if necessary, to resign and report publicly — in a manner consistent with professional ethics — to the American people the reasons for their resignation. We likewise call on the other branches of government to protect from retaliation those employees who uphold their oaths in the face of unlawful directives. The rule of law and the survival of our Republic demand nothing less.

Obama claiming executive privilege to keep DoJ documents on the ATF gun walking program popularly known as Fast and Furious out of public is not same same as a President directing his Attorney General to meddle in criminal trials of his friends.

Sure you can say what are they hiding much like the left wants to know what Trumps hiding.

It’s not the same as flexing your powers to interfere with judicial processes. Which is why professions in that arena are stating it’s blatant misuse of power

We have become accustomed to the BUT OBAMA!!!!! line from you guys, it stopped working about 100 Trump scandals ago. As for "ammo for 2020" its just laughable. Trump gives us fresh ammo on a daily basis. Everyday it gets easier and easier to run against him.

There is literally no comparison to any other President or AG. No reason to even mention Eric Holder. Its just pure desperation to deflect. Continues to not work.
