Here we go again. Now we’re going to freak out when a President wants a reduced sentence for a man he can pardon whenever the frick he wants to? Y’all really need to pick your battles better and save the outrage for something the American people actually care about.
To be fair, the Democrats have been infesting the government Bureaucracy for decades now. Started during the cold war / red scare when the Soviet long term plan involved involved weakening a nations political structure by slowing filling it with communist sympathizers. It's a tactic that works on any nation with free elections. Don't feel bad, the Chinese and Soviets were doing the same thing to South Korea which prompted President Park to turn into a dictator to stop it. Very interesting history that was, really brings home the statement "you either die a hero or live long enough to become the villain".
Anyhow, the cold war is over, the wall fell, USSR is no more, yet their weapons of war still exist and the most potent weapons are political ones.

Nah we are good. Also, every Republican so far has objected to this move. No one supports a DOJ corrupted by politics. Nice try tho Rav.
No one supports a DOJ corrupted by politics? Ha! That’s cute. Funny how quickly the tune changes when the shoe changes feet.
Yeah, I remember when Obama signed those FISA warrants, told the DOJ to wiretap Trump Tower, told Comey to investigate Trump's Russia contents, Obama was behind it all! lol

Isn’t that established pattern here?
He could just pardon Stone so why meddle since whatever is levied is moot.
The established pattern is present. Mueller Report gets 8-6’d by Barr the very next day he has the conversation with Zelensky that got him flagged by the whistleblower. Then get’s a pass by the Republican Senate in his impeachment trial, next day “retaliates” against those that gave witness testimony. Then the next week meddling in a trial of one his confidants.
Again why? He could literally pardon Stone with a magic pen stroke.
Please don’t pretend it’s liberal over reaction to his flex because what’s going on is unnecessary. Which is why some people are having the reaction that he’s abusing his power via Barr and the Justice Department.

Aren't these the same people who manipulated the system to get an "independent prosecutor" appointed, whom they then staffed with hard core Democrats? I have deep respect for Mueller and said was much from the moment he was appointed, hell said that long before he was appointed. I believe I called him a living legend, because he is. And Mueller's presence alone was enough for me to reserve judgement on the whole "Russian Collusion" thing, until the actual hearing when we got to see him talk. It then become obvious that he was merely a figurehead and didn't really know what was going on with the "investigation". Instead the investigation was really being led by the senior Democrat lawyers who staffed it.
These DoJ lawyers who just resigned, yeah they were some of those Democrats on the Mueller team.

I would ask for a source, but I know your just making it up. Obama did not fire any career DOJ prosecutors when he took office. But hey, neither did Trump. No one was fired yesterday.
I could nail a source to your face and you would still deny it, come on Viciouss we all know you by now.
/yawn. And yet, you are still completely wrong. This is still very easy.
You win nothing, just shout lahalahlah you're wrong and if someone posts a source you say it's facts I don't like and if it's a website you like you say "well I won't click it"
The fact that you don't post sources doesn't help your cries.

No, they aren't. No system was "manipulated" by the Democrats to get Mueller appointed. The *only* reason Mueller was appointed at all was because Trump fired Comey in the middle of an investigation into Russian interference. Then a *Republican* appointed Mueller to get to the bottom of the case. Thats what actually happened, the rest is just the typical conspiracy theories.

They were confirmed Democrats.
This is Washington D.C., I go outside and drive about 20 minutes and I'm in the middle of it. The entire area is blanketed with Democrats, most are in one of two areas. Government and Government Support, or the new Silicon Valley's that has sprung up in the Virginia Tech corridor. So while you guys talk from inside your homes, I can just drive a few minutes and have a talk with many of these people. A few months back me and the wife were outside on one of our date nights and walked past Newt Gingrich sitting down signing books for some people.
What the Government employees did was arrange to have an "independent prosecutor" to investigate dirt on President Trump to hopefully either remove him from office or hamper his ability to get reelected. For that IP they choose a very esteemed person who has high credibility and unimpeachable character, and he does. They then staffed that persons office with loyal senior Democrat lawyers who somehow magically "leaked" everything to the Washington Post who then passed it on to the other news outlets.
Now those corrupt Democrats are no longer welcome in the organizations they worked for. President Trump and his associates have been systematically dismantling the local Democrat bureaucracy brick by brick and boy do they loath him for it. Used to be that if Democrats wanted something done and they couldn't get it past as vote, they could instead rely on the loyal government bureaucrats to create the same effect.

You remember that government lady that got fired for flipping the finger at the President's motorcade? Yeah she won a seat on the board as one of our local politicians. She's a local hero among the Democrats out here.

Living in Washington leads absolutely zero credence to the conspiracy theory that Mueller was appointed by anyone other than a Republican. This fact will never change.

https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2020/02/trump-cuts-scheduled-federal-pay-raise-serious-economic-conditions.html
Quote:
If you lived in a bubble where Twitter Trump was your sole news source, you’d be pretty fired up, which makes it odd that on Monday the very same Trump White House said it intends to slash a scheduled pay raise for civilian federal employees. Cutting the 2.5 percent raise set for 2021 to 1 percent for millions of federal workers seems a bit austere in the face of such self-proclaimed boom times. Even more absurdly, Trump is justifying ordering the cut on the grounds that the country is in the midst of a “national emergency or serious economic conditions affecting the general welfare,” which the White House says authorizes the president to “implement alternative plans for pay adjustments.”
But he said the economy is the best it’s ever been.
By Viciouss 2020-02-12 16:01:48
Is that actually happening or was it just in his failed budget plan?

On topic, AG Barr finally stands up for DOJ, rebukes Trump's attacks.
Quote: In an exclusive interview, Attorney General Bill Barr told ABC News on Thursday that President Donald Trump "has never asked me to do anything in a criminal case” but should stop tweeting about the Justice Department because his tweets “make it impossible for me to do my job.”
“I think it’s time to stop the tweeting about Department of Justice criminal cases,” Barr told ABC News Chief Justice Correspondent Pierre Thomas.
When asked if he was prepared for the consequences of criticizing the president – his boss – Barr said “of course” because his job is to run the Justice Department and make decisions on “what I think is the right thing to do.”
“I’m not going to be bullied or influenced by anybody ... whether it’s Congress, a newspaper editorial board, or the president,” Barr said. “I’m gonna do what I think is right. And you know … I cannot do my job here at the department with a constant background commentary that undercuts me.”
Seems like Barr understood he needed to pick a side or he was gonna see a lot more of his lawyers leave the DOJ.

Trump accused of another quid pro quo, this time with New York
"He's holding New York state hostage to try to stop investigations into his prior tax fraud," tweeted Rep. Val Demings.
Politico
Quote: President Donald Trump appeared Thursday to link his administration's policies toward New York to a demand that the state drop investigations and lawsuits related to his administration as well as his personal business and finances.
Hours before New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was set to meet the president at the White House, Trump tweeted that Cuomo “must understand” that National Security far exceeds politics,” a reference to his administration’s recent decision to halt New York’s access to the Global Entry and other “trusted traveler” programs that allow New Yorkers faster border crossings and shorter airport lines.
Trump continued, “New York must stop all of its unnecessary lawsuits & harrassment, start cleaning itself up, and lowering taxes.”
Trump’s invocation of “lawsuits & harrassment” was a reference to the state’s numerous lawsuits against his administration and also against Trump’s business, which is based in New York.... Yep, as Sen, Snow said, "He learned his lesson..."

Yep, as Sen, Snow said, "He learned his lesson..."
To build on that point:
https://www.salon.com/2020/02/13/susan-collins-flees-from-reporter-when-asked-if-she-still-believes-trump-learned-a-very-big-lesson/
Quote: Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, dodged questions from a reporter Wednesday who pressed her on whether she still believed her claim that President Donald Trump has learned a "lesson" by being impeached.
Collins, along with several other Republicans, defended her vote to acquit Trump in his Senate impeachment trial by arguing that though his actions were "wrong," he had learned a "pretty big lesson" from being impeached
Attorney General William Barr appears to be equally emboldened, intervening in a case to reduce the sentencing recommendation for longtime Trump adviser Roger Stone, prompting all four prosecutors in the case to withdraw. Barr also reportedly replaced a top Justice Department official who oversaw the Stone case and intervened to reduce the sentencing recommendation for former Trump national security adviser Michael Flynn.
Barr admitted earlier this week that he created a process for Trump attorney Rudy Giuliani to submit information he obtained during his hunt for damaging information on former Vice President Joe Biden to federal prosecutors. Giuliani is under a federal investigation, and there is no evidence Biden abused his authority.
CNN's Manu Raju pressed Collins on whether she still felt had Trump learned his lesson Wednesday, given his recent actions.
"I don't know what actions you're referring to," she replied. "I've made very clear that I don't think anyone should be retaliated against."
Collins argued that she did not vote to acquit Trump, because she believed he had learned from his impeachment.
"That has nothing to do with the basis by which I voted to acquit the president," she said. "I voted to acquit the president, as I made very clear to you, Manu, on numerous occasions, because his conduct, while wrong, did not meet the high bar established in the Constitution for the immediate ouster of a duly-elected president."
Pressed again on whether Trump learned any lessons, Collins shut the door and walked away.
Which is hilarious because it’s on tape to the contrary of her new stance
Quote: Sen. Lisa Murkowski, R-Alaska, who also voted to acquit Trump, acknowledged that Trump's behavior since the trial does not suggest he learned much from the months-long ordeal.
"There haven't been any strong indicators this week that he has," she told Raju.
Collins was not the only senator that predicted Trump would behave differently after impeachment. Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., asserted that the president would "think twice" in the future. Sen. Shelly Moore Capito, R-W.Va., argued Trump had "learned that he has to be maybe a little more judicious and careful."
Despite becoming only the third president to be impeached, Trump dashed those hopes Wednesday when he responded to a question from a reporter in the Oval Office.
"Some Republicans have said they hoped you would learn a lesson from impeachment," NBC News' Peter Alexander said. "What lesson did you learn from impeachment?"
"That the Democrats are crooked — they've got a lot of crooked things going — that they're vicious, that they shouldn't have brought impeachment and that my poll numbers are 10 points higher because of facts I don't like like NBC, which reports the news very inaccurately," Trump responded.
Check it out Vic you got a name drop.
Quote:
Author Molly Jong-Fast wrote at The Bulwark that there was only one lesson Trump was likely to learn from his party giving him a pass on impeachment.
"The lesson he was destined to take from impeachment was that he can get away with everything and anything," she wrote. "Trump learned that he owns the Republican Party, that they will do whatever he wants, that they will sign off on all his criming. Trump learned a lesson this week: He learned that he is our mad king and nothing and no one can stop him. "
The end result of blind partisanship.

Yeah, “all his criming”. And yet in spite of all these investigations they can’t seem to prove any. If “getting away with it” was going to embolden Trump, maybe they shouldn’t have accused him of something that was subjective and doomed to fail.

Don’t take it the wrong but that’s the logic that people who have been victims of, as well as the perpetrators of physiological abuse use.
You’re also ignoring the fact that Republicans in the Senate conceded that he committed the crime but would not vote to remove from office due to partisanship. Which is called “enabling”

Some people live in a world where ignoring an absolute fact means it doesn't exist.
Wasn't Trump also fined $2 million for misusing charitable funds? I don't think a person can get fined unless found guilty of a criminal act.
I'm sure there are more examples of Trump's criminal behavior but it's still early and I need more coffee.
