Dem Dems aiming at 2020
That deflection just isn't working.
There has not been an outbreak in the US yet, so Trump is batting 1.000. He's not responsible for what happens in other countries. Reserve judgment until, you know, something actually happens. The unwarranted panic isn't helping anybody.
Also, I should point out that we don't even know if the virus would have a mortality rate higher than the common flu in the US. I don't see any reported deaths for the cases here so far. Never let a good crisis go to waste, though....

All the successful communists live like that. Just look at the leaders of North Korea, Venezuela, Cuba and you get the point. The ruling elite always have it great, on the backs of their slave population. Would you consider Trump a successful or non-successful communist? The issue is he (the Donald) is downplaying the affect and impact publicly while privately expressing concern that COVID-19 will hurt his chances at getting re-elected.
Sure one can say his job is to placate the masses. However the CDC is running counter and urging people not to believe the hype. https://www.fox10phoenix.com/news/trump-us-officials-send-mixed-messages-on-covid-19-risk-to-americans Ironically in Iran the minister of health gave a statement about having the outbreak their under control while displaying symptoms of the virus. Congressional testimony derailed Trump's fake messaging yesterday. Senator Kennedy got a bunch of hits in on the DHS, Richard Shelby asked why the admin wasn't requesting more money, and the CDC head literally said its not a question of when the US gets infected, but when. The biggest thing we probably learned yesterday is a vaccine is 12-18 months away. Its coming this way, asking stupid questions like "how many people are infected right now" is beyond stupid. Italy had 11 cases, then a few hours later over 300. This isn't Ebola, its a virus that spreads easily and rapidly. Large social events, school days, concerts, PAX East fan extravaganzas (soooorrrrryyy) are magnets for disease already, this just increases the risk. How lethal is it really? Its unclear. But not being overly lethal doesn't mean its not dangerous. Its destroying the stock market this week, its going to have a severe effect on lives. Its obvious the Trump admin isn't ready for it, but the biggest problem it has right now is its spokesman: Trump. The guy remains an idiot and clearly is panicking about the situation, listen to the lies he is spewing on a daily basis. Its going away soon, when it gets warmer, people are already feeling better, its contained, everything is fine!!! He is taking a crisis that he didn't create, and making it way worse for himself. He doesn't have the sense to stop talking. We are looking at a global pandemic, and the only leader that has done a reasonable job so far of not only combating the virus but saying the right things is Shinzo Abe of Japan. *CDC said not if, but when.

Common flu death rate sits at about 0.15%, so far corona virus is around 2.5% I think you missed the “in the US” part. Flu is everywhere, the mortality rate is averaged across a diverse population. Corona has been concentrated in areas where health quality is lower. It skews the mortality rate of the virus as a whole. Yeah apparently CNN with orders from the DNC have begun to insinuate that Trump is not only responsible for the virus but that he'll lose the election because of it. I had a super liberal coworker, and I mean lifelong DC liberal, get into a conversation of "can the coronavirus cause Trump to lose an election". I replied that was a dumb idea, he wanted to know why so I broke it into two sections. First it's far too early in the election year for this to be a deciding issue. This outbreak will burn out before the summer ramp up leading to the September ~ November insanity that is our election year. This isn't a plague, this is just a very aggressive and infectious flu virus. Nobody is going to care about it during the months were things like this would have the most impact. Secondly, the population that this would have an impact on doesn't care and doesn't even trust CNN. We must divine the voting population into three segments to see how this pans out. First the people that would vote for a potato over Trump (they chuckled on this one), throw those people out as their votes are already decided and won't be changed. Then take the people that will vote Trump regardless, also throw those people out for the same reason. Now that slice that's left, those are the people who need to convince. Those people watch Fox over CNN, if just for the shows (the numbers support this overwhelmingly) and the ability of the DNC to directly influence them with *** is very limited. That means direct events are gonna influence them, that means jobs and so forth. Again the infectious flu that's going around isn't the plague, it's only deadly to the same people who are vulnerable to the flue every year. The economic activity we're seeing now is due to the precautions people are taking to reduce it's spread, it's extremely short term. Btw now is a very good time to buy stocks as the market, like usual, is overreacting with a transfer of money from stocks to "safe" low interest holdings. lol wow. Maybe Trump should hire Saevel as his spokesman, he sounds just as dumb. "Its going away soon guys, when the weather warms up."

I"m voting for Joe for U.S. Senate.
Take that Trump. Speaking of elections, a Republican won a House seat in a special election that had been blue for decades... and practically nobody is reporting it. I guess it’s only major news when it’s a longshot Democrat that fails to turn a red seat (
but they were oh so close! ).
Yeah, nobody cares about state elections. Remarkable.

How is Trump responsible for this ***. Shouldn't you be blaming the Chinese. Yes, and Trump has had it engineered to target anyone leaning politically to the left. He's got a big challenge coming up in November, and he's got to go at it from a lot of different angles. He'll need to do a lot more this time than just enlist the assistance of Russia. At least I know that if I start developing symptoms of this flu, I just need to step outside and stand in the sun to warm up and the symptoms will go away...at leas that is what I am gathering from the recent posts in this thread. |
