All NZ had to do was make it so that the baby took the citizenship of the mother and not automatically gain NZ citizenship. Not ban pregnant women from coming.
But birth citizenship is in our constitution. You don't have one of those.

The costs are much less than that obviously, also the doctors are usually Russian too and went there to build a business via this system.

If someone did this without using a business they could still get it done for free, just wait in a car outside a hospital till they are about to give birth and then go inside. Ultimately all hospitals have to help anyone in an emergency for free anyway, that's the law (Emergency Medical Treatment and Active Labor Act of 1986). They would bill medicaid.

Thanks for the clarification. I knew it was a loss, but I couldn't remember the exact mechanism. As expensive as healthcare can be, hospitals don't often make a lot of profit. They actually have built-in losses for many procedures, with built-in profits for others to provide balance. Medicaid is actually one of their biggest sources of loss, as they have less leverage for price negotiation. It's not hard to tip the profit balance into the red if they take in a growing number of Medicaid patients.

Except Democrats don’t want to take your guns. They just want it harder for you to get the already stupidly expensive ones.

Speaking of Medicaid, the latest work requirement law got absolutely crushed in the courts again, its dead. States are pretty much backing off that policy now as it has become obvious only Congress can touch Medicaid. Kentucky abandoned it completely.

Trump doesn't want to take away birth citizenship either.

Yes he does, he ran on it after all. He just can't. There is a huge difference. Another easy one.

Weren't you making a huge deal about how we shouldn't pay attention to campaign promises because people promise crazy things when running for office?

He has never stopped pursuing that campaign promise. Exhibit A: making up the concept of birth tourism and trying to end it, a doomed pursuit. Exhibit B: Trying to take away automatic citizenship for babies born to US citizens stationed abroad. Another doomed pursuit. If he could take away birth citizenship, he would do it in a heartbeat.

Uh, not the same thing as trying to end birthright citizenship, just trying to stop people from gaming the system. On a related note, why do you think birth tourism is a good thing, or why do you think we should not try to prevent it?

lol, how is trying to end automatic citizenship for babies born to Americans stationed abroad trying to "stop people from gaming the system?" Who is "gaming the system?" The Air Force Captain stationed in Ramstein is gaming the system? Trump's policies are stupid, and DOA. Their court arguments have been horrible thus far, thats why he keeps losing.

Are you gonna answer my questions..or?

I'm not convinced "birth tourism" is an actual problem, and I know we certainly are not going to implement a policy that denies women who may or may not be pregnant legal entry because we are assuming they are only coming here to have a kid. Thats a doomed policy.

If we're just going to play the game of "everything Trump does is a HUGE problem, everything people do that could potentially benefit Democrats, even if it's shady, is an imaginary problem that deserves no discussion", then I'm bored already. I'm glad to discuss any topic in good faith, but these threads have gone downhill fast.

IF you want these threads to get better maybe you should stop enabling people that fabricate positions of the Dems. People like nausi, Saevel, and kireek. Thats all they do, is make up a position the Dems are taking, or post some random news event of an individual no one knows or cares about, in order to make us look bad. It has never worked, and it never will.

Unlike our side, which is not fabricating any of Trump's positions that he has made very clear with his own words and actions. He is trying to end birth citizenship for as many people as possible, including people that are already US citizens. Its a major tenant of his administration, and fortunately, its gone next to nowhere.

LOL. Yeah, "your side" in here is just the pinnacle of quality discussion. Tell me some more stories, Aesop.

Can’t complain when you’re enabling with endorsements of every post. That’s a segment of a quadruple Kireek posts with your endorsement. Don’t pretend it means nothing when in the other thread you were coming at Ozment about endorsements of posts you take objection to.

Also it’s been a established trend that you endorse many other of the far fetched right wing conspiracy posters who visit and ***up any real conversation. So you can stop pretending you’re an unbiased centrist who isn’t intent on shitting up the discussion.

Feel free to report me or pretend this observation which I’ve been stating for many a year is inaccurate. An observation others picked up after just interacting after a couple of posts.

If you want an actual honest good faith discussion you really need to look at yourself first.

What exactly is wrong with Kireek posting news articles from MSM outlets? Birth tourism is an actual thing, btw.
