if it's like the past every single person involved (besides people who bought the medals) will be banned.
do you know what happens when you get banned for exploits? i'm guessing none of you do, you're all talking like you're professional exploiters. SE completely deletes your POL ID. you go into the management console and its not even there anymore, that's how much they scorched earth things.
people thinking that they don't ban or that this is comparable to POS hacking or dissolving an alliance are absolutely delusional.

This is all accurate. I'm not sure why deleting POL account makes it seem more relevant since locked is equivalent, but they do it. It frees up the name and gets rid of things you have on the AH too, basically just guaranteeing that character has no future impact on anything.
STF numbers are up for debate, but you're really just showing that you've never been in the know on anything like this if you don't understand that the ban procedure is different.

Rather than spew ***behind an anon account, why not explain how is not comparable? It is known that it involves packets (Eli said this) and is not within the constraints of the game. i thought the initial statement was "it was found by accident" which kind of implies it didn't involve 3rd pt tools unless thats just the usual way you play the game.
What if you live with your parents and your brother is a bloody hacker and both of you use the same address/payment information?
Should you get banned because your brother is a hacker?
a very hypothetical scenario. 2 brothers living in the same household playing the same game would know what the other one is up to. one would keep the other one in check so they'd either both cheat or none of them. its also rather unlikely that 2 men in their late 20s - early 30s would still use their parents credit card.

You can believe whatever you want, but bans are happening and will happen here. They're probably going to knock down whoever did the exploiting and wherever the gil from the sales went to.

I believe it's also so that if you try to claim the account was hacked and recall it there is no option to do so.
STF numbers are either exaggerated or tallied in a decieving way. Maybe they are counting total number of characters(10 on a rmts account) and then calling that accounts. It's hard telling

I've known people to have all accounts on the same CC to be banned even if only 1 or some did bad things. This is why you can only put 2 accounts on 1 bank card now too though - to stop crazy Chinese RMT easily having dozens of accounts.

2 gil say the majority of the exploiters already started to build up their next line of mules or "mains" when the info started leaking yesterday.
if their current mains don't happen to get banned they just sell the new accounts instead...

I bet they target people who bought excessive amounts of them in the past 24 hours though. S-E doesn't hold players accountable for buying "dirty items" if they have no way of knowing their origin, but they do frown on knowingly buying duped things. The scope of this is so large they can only go after the worst offenders, but I bet some of the people who bought dozens upon dozens of stacks of medals over the past 24 hours will come crying later saying that S-E nuked their treasure trove from orbit with no compensation.

I had 3 account that originally used the same card to pay monthly suspended a few hours after they popped on each server for buying hundreds of singles off ah, like i normally have been doing since Dyna D was released. and I dont see me doing anything differently then normal, besides talking about how they did it in ls.

When did a GM tell you this? 2010? approximately a year and a half ago, and he didn't mention the IP ban but i have seen multiple devs say this.
What! Who deleted that. The ffxi community should have a place to discuss that given this is the only active forum. Hiding it just protects those involved lol. This isnt something innocent when it impacts a lot of players.
