I didnt realize negative approval ratings had any impact on the results of the legitimate investigations/convictions.

Then you really don’t get the whole point of this exercise. This whole investigation is a political strategy with the goal of driving down Trump’s approval ratings. When it’s down in the Nixon/watergate range, Trump is supposed to have no choice but to resign. Thats the main goal here, as there is no “crime” to speak of (just like nixon and watergate).

No but thats what happened to nixon and that’s effectively what happened to W. Nixon didn’t participate in any crime, or at least there is no evidence that he did. But the shroud of doubt that the media created was so intense that it tanked his approval ratinngs to the point where his own party told him he needed to go.

That’s goal number 1 here. Make trump ineffective by getting support to abandon him. However the media monopoly doesn’t function the way it did in the 70s. People can get an alternative narrative pretty easily these days, which is why there is such a push towards the censorship of conservative platforms. Trump doesn’t need that media monopoly, he can get his message out without their consent. It’s another reason they hate him.

The only way his base will abandon him is if he abandons them. Otherwise you guys are stuck with him. Even if you win the house (which you won’t), you’re never going to win 67 seats in the senate to remove him based on some fake charge.

And again liberals are hiring crisis actors in made up mass shootings, right!?!

Trump prefers the shooters to be people of color and noncitizens, otherwise, total silence.

Trump's aggregated approval numbers haven't just been stable, they've been eerily stable. They were jumping all over the place for his entire presidency, and then since two months ago they basically just flat-lined. I'm not sure what to make of it.
Its pretty simple.

Those who love trump still love him, those who despise him still despise him.

Those who were ambivalent, or on the fence, or had questions have shaken out by now and fallen on one side of the fence or another.

That's the most obvious conclusion, yes. While what you say may be the primary reason, I've been trained to look deeper than that because it's never that simple.
True, nothing is ever that simple. What's your analysis of the poling?

Lets try destruction of evidence and obstruction of justice in Nixon's case.

Both are crimes and a Republican majority in congress was convinced that impeachment was warranted by those apparent crimes. (Which, thanks to G. Ford, he was never convicted of.)

Apparently there is no limit to nausi's stupidity, now claiming that there was no crime committed by the Nixon administration.

The president cannot obstruct justice by executing his executive duties or by exercising his executive privilege.

The fact that you think these are crimes means the media was successful in making you think a law was broken when it wasn’t.

You guys suck at putting words in Nausi's mouth. He's not that hard to peg, and yet you guys keep going full Lordgrim. At least get in the same ballpark for once....

Nixon knew, so what? You can’t point to a law he broke, exercising his presidential powers isn’t breakin a law. You can argue that its an abuse of power, but that isn’t ultimately agaunst the law.

Then again Nixon did not have that great legal fabulist, Rudy Giuliani, working for him.

WTF are you smoking? Care to share?
