Now the left is concerned with homeless vets? Obama did nothing for them.

I know this is just a shitpost but Ill ask anyway, whats changed? Trump fired his VA directot that was doing a good job and had broad support, tried to replace him with a nobody, that blew up in his face, so, whats changed?

The VA system has always been screwed, I know this for fact because I got out in 2005 and have used it since. I do like the new option to see your private doctor if wait is over 90 days, which for ortho it always is.

He brought it up after stating that Obama didn’t do anything for vets. Was asked why does he think Trump is doing something positive for them. Then mentions a specific component of the Choice Program... is it really that hard to make the connection?

Obama didn't do anything for homeless vets is what he said.

Then Vic said that Trump fired his VA director and replaced him...so what's changed?

Slore says the VA has always been screwed but he likes the new option.

Vic shifted the topic to the current administration. Slore responded by bringing up the Choice program.

Then you stated that Trump didn't come up with the Choice program, which is true and no one has argued against since that post. But then you try to insert Obama at the end of your post to imply that it was his program instead that Slore was happy about.

I asked you if you were really trying to say that Obama had anything to do with the Choice program.

Vic asked me what I thought of Slore's comment about it being a new policy with the Trump administration.

I said that he was mistaken but he might have thought it had something to do with Trump extending the program to families...yada yada yada.

It's posted 5k times on the last two pages. It really isn't hard to read and comprehend...or is it?

That’s where you should have ended. But you didn’t.

Let me ask you a question with the respect to your assertion but on a different topic:

Do you think Bill Clinton is responsible for the market crash of 08’ in signing the repeal of Glass-Steagall?

I look on my Google feed and apparently there's been a march on Smith & Wesson over gun laws...

Smith & *** Wesson, the company who is overshadowed by and was almost universally replaced by Glock, the company who eagerly put a lock in their revolvers which has turned away many S&W fanatics.

Wtf are they hoping to accomplish exactly? Are they hoping S&W will put in a phone call to Glock HQ for a come-to-Jesus chat or something?

I'm usually in favor of gun safety and against whatever *** the NRA is peddling but this just seems like a poorly researched feel-good operation for people to pat themselves on the back over.

Thanks for playing.

We both agree Slore was mistaken in attributing the Choice Program to Trump.

We both agree that the legislative branch in its current state is fiscally irresponsible, contrary to how it sells itself.

However you were asked a question and you didn’t answer it.

Also it should be pointed that falsely accusing people of fabricating and along with accusations of man crushing Obama while amusing is not really helping you.

You seem to miss the point which was addressing Slore’s perception that the “Left and Obama never did anything for the Vets while Trump has being doing an excellent job”; then citing programs that were enacted in the Obama era and attributing them to Trump.

And here you are doing the opposite, trying to attribute the Choice program to Obama and the left.

Are you denying that you aren't the one that inserted Obama into the Choice Program conversation? I'm assuming that's what you're accusing me of fabricating?

And I just spent 2 pages arguing with you over Obama infatuation, I'm not about to get into another conversation that I don't care to get into at this point.

idk... I think we're still trying to find something worthwhile to give obama credit for doing... nobody believed he deserved the nobel peace prize they handed him...but you'd be hard pressed to imagine something he accomplished other than lowering his golf handicap.

so good luck with that.

Yet they still handed it to him.

Was there a liberal ***storm here about the mention of giving Trump and South Korea's president one?

Nik! I'm still waiting for all the fire and brimstone the liberals were crying about! "OMG HES GONNA GIVE US THE WARS!"

I know he still has more time, but still, the whining about Nuclear War with North Korea over the social media was like a rabid scared circle jerk.

Ok I have to apologize for starting this argument between you to as I misspoke. The program I MEANT to refer to is the VA Mission Act. I was unaware they changed the name as I have not used this program since its implementation in June. I will get the flier when I go to VA on Friday. Now I am not saying the Choice Program was bad, do not get me wrong. Neither program was written by either President so I am not sure how much credit goes to either.

I'm old and I don't particularly like change. So it's fine by me if our presidents continue taking elaborate golf vacations, thinly veiled as diplomatic excursions and little else.

I'd much rather that they didn't do anything drastic and for the most part they don't... because they can't... it's really more of a figurehead position. it's a checks and balances thing we don't have time to delve into now...

sooner or later they all figure out that they should of heeded the wisdom of the serenity prayer a lot sooner than they do and they say *** it and go bowling golfing.

here's the fundamental problem. we can't see into the future. so there is no way to know how our actions will influence it. hindsight is 20/20 but foresight is 50~50 and that's being extremely generous in both measures.

we can start out with the very best of intentions, watch helplessly as our actions consequences spiral wildly out of our control and then blows up in our faces. ask JFK how the whole Vietnam thing worked out.

You do know that it was Eisenhower who first put "advisors" in Vietnam don't you?

And that it was Johnson who oversaw the troop build up*?

Also that JFK wasn't around to see how the whole thing worked out. Many of his brain trust were though and most regretted it publicly sooner or later.

*Johnson thought it was a mistake from the beginning but didn't see a way to get out of it.

From the wiki article:

Quote:
During his presidency, Kennedy continued policies that provided political, economic, and military support to the South Vietnamese government. In late 1961, the Viet Cong began assuming a predominant presence, initially seizing the provincial capital of Phuoc Vinh. Kennedy increased the number of military advisors and special forces in the area, from 11,000 in 1962 to 16,000 by late 1963, but he was reluctant to order a full-scale deployment of troops. A year and three months later on March 8, 1965, his successor, President Lyndon Johnson, committed the first combat troops to Vietnam and greatly escalated U.S. involvement, with forces reaching 184,000 that year and 536,000 in 1968.
Eisenhower started it, Kennedy followed suit, and Johnson committed the first combat troops.

Wasn't that what I said? Remember I lived through it.

Former Trump campaign chief Paul Manafort found guilty of bank and tax fraud

President Donald Trump's former campaign chairman Paul Manafort on Tuesday was found guilty of eight criminal counts.
They include five counts of tax fraud, two counts of bank fraud and one count of failing to file foreign bank account reports.
In a note to U.S. District Court Judge T.S. Ellis, the jurors said they had not reached a consensus on the 10 remaining counts in the bank fraud and tax crimes trial. Ellis, in turn, declared a mistrial on those 10 counts.

8 out of 18, the rest were a hung jury. The ones he got were all shady business dealings from 2005.

No he didn't, at least not the deal your thinking. Just standard "I won't fight if only these charges and time" type deal, zero cooperation. His dealings were the same, tax and shady business dealings. My take is that they had him dead to rights on some tax evasion that they could push for some serious time on and offered him an easy out if he would just agree to a "campaign finance violation" thrown in. I say that one because it's kinda weird it appearing by itself after the typical laundry list of financial ***.

So tax evasion and bad business dealings get you into trouble, I think we all can agree on that. So far no "Russian Collusion" or Evil Trump, just his associates being high powered shady businessmen, which is pretty par for the course for DC. I don't think there is an elected official who doesn't have shady associates.
