"The System" is perfectly fine, innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in accordance with the guidelines set forth by the founding fathers who themselves had just gotten out from a very abusive system.
Secret letters to congressional representatives are not how you handle a sexual assault charge, law enforcement is how. Anything less is someone trying to pull something over. This "anonymous women" is about as real as "Jackie".

She has a right to be heard, but she does not have the right to completely derail his appointment based on the most conveniently-timed allegation imaginable. How ironic would it be for a potential arbiter of the constitution (that guarantees innocence until guilt is proven) to lose his opportunity at one of the nation's highest honors based solely on an accusation that has no evidence whatsoever.
