I shut the *** up instead of making baseless interjections masqueraded as facts and make myself look like a complete idiot. In the event I do chime in, its usually in an inquiring state for gaining knowledge. (you keep adding servers that have no stock, still missing the point, almost like there's really no incentive to buy/make/sell them due to how horrible the system currently is) I know exactly how bad making NQ is, that's why I god damn said it. lol You were all kinds of incorrect in your pricing of the sets, admitted you didn't know wtf you were talking about ("I don't care luuul"), then started mass editing your comment to deflect into a supply debate. You're so cool Eiryl. Jealousy Circlet is 10m on sylph. what's your point.

No ones buying them because the grind *** sucks (2.5months per piece without freebies from data) and the gear isnt that good until you hit R20++. Eiryl isn't wrong. He never is. You're wrong. You're not? Go back and check his posts. Always right. Yes, he edited, so YOU'RE wrong. Wait, you quoted him before he could edit? Still not wrong. YOU'RE just slow. Nevermind he scoured the net looking for an example that fits his initially incorrect statement. Ignore that. You're wrong still.
Carbuncle.Nynja said: » Dropping to one matter, usable for that zone, would essentially achieve the same. I don't think so, the problem is that there's no rapid progress on early ranks. One supercharged Bumba takes you all the way to R15 nyame. It only takes 600 heroisms(or a minimal amount of dyna) to get R15 necks/su4s. Scaling it so that early ranks require far less tradables would be comparable to other content. Something like 1 jewel 15-20, 2 jewels 20-25, and 3 from 25-30 would still amount to the same thing for tryhards aiming to fully cap pieces. The difference is that it makes rank 20 attainable, which both entices people to actually do it and improves its ability to function as catchup gear. (I know, tryhards will still be upset that R30 is a stupid grind. I can't imagine SE cares though, since it's pretty obviously an intentional timesink.) By your statement, you only removed matter (and shards) from the equation, you still need units. Unless you're afk botting in the zone to repeat floors (the rapid progress), you're gonna get matters as you get units. At higher ranks, the matters are no longer the blocker, units are. You'll generally get ~15k units per matter (~6k units per climb x 4 climbs, 3k units per ??? x2, 62% chance at 3k box with a 45% matter load rate and 38% chance at a 5k box with 100% matter load rate). Percentages are from my own data based on a fixed rotation and total count of HQ boxes vs NQ boxes as well as matter load rate from NQ boxes.
If you afk bot your way to R15 on units alone without doing any climbs and then start going "***I need matter", you're already behind the 8-ball as R15 to R16 is 18800 units. Presuming someone starting at 0, they'd be better served farming units and turning in matter as they get them to rank up the armor. Wait, I found an even bigger issue: You still need 121,850 units just to get to R15. Considering the 70k cap per week, thats still one week just to get a single piece of gear to R15 with just units (assuming its split between zones). Even if you remove matters, there are still other existing limitations on said rapid progress. Shiva.Thorny said: » One supercharged Bumba takes you all the way to R15 nyame. This is the real issue with all Limbus gear right here - the early ranks up to 15 should be easy to get, then it gets more expensive / difficult from there. This is not the case though since you are gated by matters and shards in the early levels and later on once the RP is more costly you will be (usually) drowning in them and struggling to make enough RP per week to do anything significant. The Unity NM equipment and Odyssey equipment leveling up works much, much better to get newer players on track. The first few levels should be worth more than the later ones, and be faster to achieve for Limbus gear. I don't think getting V0 clears for base armor is such a big hurdle.
Should you solo it? No, should find others that also need V0 unlocks and do the ones you need to unlock together. That's also how I got my first full unlocks. Once you have full unlocks then yes, solo rp grind on your own time. People do spend segs to help others just fine - I've done lots so have others. Like others said, if you don't have v25 clears by now, good luck finding a group that still does them. What else is there to spend segs on. Lakshmi.Buukki said: » just make them easier? The grind is the whole point of that content. It's not going anywhere. Now v25 nerfs? Way past due. I don't know, guys, but I guess I'd recommend talking to people in game and using your Linkshells to do stuff? I came back after a 10+ year break last year and joined a Linkshell on a small server. They occasionally ran Odyssey unlock runs to get people gear. Usually people willing to do pickup segment runs, and I did my fair share of THF chest picking runs to get Segments and unity materials.
These days I do segments with my Sortie group and we are even going through the Vengeance climb now; working on V25 Atonement 2 at the moment. Doesn't seem so dire if a noobie on Carbuncle can make meaningful progress. I recommend being a little social, a little friendly. And now I can pay it back by doing unlocks for newer people as well. Its a good system. If you could get to R15-20 augments on Limbus gear fast (like other content) the gear would be super popular. Most of the good augments are locked behind r25+ which could be gated harder for the more endgame oriented player.
Limbus has been a mess for a year but at least they have shown some effort in making the system better. They're doing things to make it slightly less shittier and not doing the things to make it NOT shitty.
Carbuncle.Nynja said: » I dont get the logic about the temenos furnace needing murky matter and vice versa. Then there are items that can be augmented at either furnace, but requires mats from BOTH zones. The logic is "we want you to do both zones instead of just spamming a single one". But that's pretty obvious and I'm sure you knew that already so I probably just completely missed the point you were trying to make lol If you ask me anyway the Matter system is convoluted and stupid. Gameplay wise it's meant to be something that slows progress, because it's not 100% drop rate. In synergy with that, it's meant to be an aspect making people willing to do what is needed to mantain the high tier chests, because if you don't then one of the many things you'll lose, is the higher % of matter dropping. In hindsight, given how SLOW the progress is regardless, after a certain rank and given how you're capped to a max amount of units each week anyway, knowing all of this, knowing you need over 600k to R30 a single piece, do you really need to further slow that progress with matters on each upgrade? I mean, if you ask me progress looks slow even without matters required, so no reason at all for matters to be necessary, other than maybe for the very first upgrade to unlock ranks/augs. If it were me I'd just remove matters as necessary past rank 1 and make so you can trade matters to NPC to receive, I dunno, 1,5k units of that zone? Or even make them sellable eventually, so that people can skip a couple of runs each week! (in that scenario they should be worth more like 100 points though) Asura.Sechs said: » The logic is "we want you to do both zones instead of just spamming a single one". I'm not even believing "REEEEE DISPEL PIXIES" as an excuse considering Apollyon has: Non-sleepable turtles that remove all songs/rolls efts with aoe dispel Dragons with voidsong wyverns with 3 buff dispel petrigaze peistes FOUR demon floors that spam you with stun, sleepga, bind, gravity Gargs that have 30 second terror (though easily avoidable) encumberance slugs ghost, skeleton, hecteyes, corse floors that do even more sleepga, bind, stun, gravity spam amnesia ladybugs (this is the worst I could come up with for vermin wing) Asura.Sechs said: » If you ask me anyway the Matter system is convoluted and stupid. Why cant I just trade 5 shards, both matter and the armor to the furnace in one trade??? Speaking of jewels, wouldn't it just be nice if there was a rare chance you received one of the jewels from a box? Or make them drop personal pools from NMs like Geas Fete. 155 shards is a tall task. If you could get like 5-10 jewels over the life of farming one piece from scratch (25-50 shards worth), that would have been a nice little bonus. Wouldn't have cost them anything because you can't sell jewels.
Do people hate Temenos because of pixies? What's worse about Temenos is its layout and how much longer it used to take to navigate. It's not as bad now that they removed some floors.
Quote: I think the jewel system is stupid. Why do I have to trade 5 shards, a murky matter and an alabaster matter to the furnace to get a jewel, then trade the jewel and the armor to the furnace? Why cant I just trade 5 shards, both matter and the armor to the furnace in one trade??? I'll go one step further! If I have 5 alabaster matters, 5 murky matters, and 25 shards, why can't I trade them to the furnace all at once and get 5 jewels? Why do I have to build jewels one at a time!!!! If I have 5 jewels the furnace will happily accept all 5 and my armor to upgrade my progress by 5 ranks just fine. But if I want to make jewels in bulk the game just says NO! That's absolute laziness on s-e's part. Terrible user experience. Asura.Secare said: » Do people hate Temenos because of pixies? What's worse about Temenos is its layout and how much longer it used to take to navigate. It's not as bad now that they removed some floors. The issue with Temenos now is that some floors don't contain enough enemies to sustain multiple groups passing through at the same time. The Pixie/Ghrah floor stands out the most here: a six-person party must clear all Ghrahs in one lower area plus one additional mob, be it an Unseelie or another Ghrah from the next room. If there are two groups here, it becomes a matter of waiting which disrupts the flow of the run (though the run time overall is still much shorter). There are also several floors which can nearly be entirely controlled by a single bot party, further exacerbating the issue if one or more parties are on that floor at the same time.
Granted, these are all almost certainly Asura problems that don't exist on non-garbage servers. Overall, the shortening of Temenos is welcome, to the point that I now often see people (jokingly) complain that Apollyon is too long by comparison. At this point I think I prefer Temenos overall. The demon/undead floors and their ice spikes and sleeps and dooms and true sight and blood aggro and magic resistance are more bothersome now imo.

Keep the Regen, but removing the random aura would help a lot for the Rng of it all. The Regen keeps the gear requirement / natural progression into the content. The aura is what pisses people off because ‘if you get the wrong one you lose’. I will make this observation. I’ve noticed a lot of people only, or mostly, play content with their sortie group now. Used to be we had LS-wide events as the end game content (18 players). So the reduction in pool size does limit those who have access to stuff. Also it’s become a bit more exclusive to ‘who you know’ rather than ‘anyone from my ls, whom does W3 Dyna anyway’. |
