In Japanese the word “upper” goes back to the players damage, unless it’s another mess up by SE.

If its correct, can only think of two things: ignore defense of target or deal severe damage like Coruscanti.

The wording of Coruscanti severe is completely different.

Sure, I meant how this new addition will operate and I believe it will also proc on weapon skills.

SU5 scythe 1):
Follow up attack +50%(the term is same as used on raetic description)
Subtle blow II+25

Looking back, I find it interesting that SE is giving other jobs SB2 right after that mnk SB2 discussion.....

SE hates MNK?

If that works offhand then nin will get raetic kind of weapon with sb II and attack from shadows. Sounds awesome.

They've already got an Attack +% stat on other pieces, and it isn't written like that.

Highly doubt, it seems like a direct increase to DMG cap on everything!

Coruscanti Caps pDif without buffs when it actually procs.. could be the same unless it also breaks pDif cap (wonder by how much though)

It’s not OAT, it’s ODD

Wasn't raetic OAT calculated in addition to MA or something? Thought I remember it increasing the possible number of attack rounds.

That is correct. Follow up attack is not the same as oat.

Its not oat its following attack 50% (same as raetic) or occasionally deals double damage +50% on different path.

To clarify:

The wording of blurred hq oat in jp is "時々2回攻撃"
The wording of raetic is "追撃"

So su5 is same as raetic, not blurred hq.

ODD is good for amnesia tp set.

And yeah, for cor at least, the gap between a generic endgame cor with easy to obtain gears like tp bonus gun, Fomalhaut, hep sapara HQ and someone with multiple rostam for every path and upgratded rema will be huge now. If they follow the same path.

Step 1

Meet certain conditions in either of two ways

A) Fight Dynamis (D) Wave 3 boss
B) Pay a job point

Step 2

A) Accumulate reenforcement points

I guess it depends on how many job points equals a reenforcement point, and how many you'd need to cap it. My guess it, one wave 3 boss kill caps a weapon, and something stupid like 1500-2000 job points. They'd have to keep the JP grind something really high since we get so many capacity points at master and people just bot them anyways. So if dynamis can be done once every 60 hours, the grind for job points has to be commensurate, otherwise wave 3 would become useless.

Just my guess

Nothing there says that you can trade job points for RP, so it might not even be an option.

It's worded very clearly to me actually

Step 1
Option one for getting points: fight a wave 3 boss
Option two for getting points: pay a job point

Step 2
Accumulate rp on weapons ( by using the points accrued from step 1)

What other reason would they have for including job points in the equation? It's clearly intended to be a "hard option" for those in dynamis d clear groups (which would be faster), and am easy option for everybody else (the longer method).

"Meet certain conditions" may imply that it's something you have to do before you can start the process of augmenting in the first place. That would imply:

Step 1: To flag the process, you either need to fight a Wave 3 boss, or pay an unknown number of job points. After this point, you are flagged for the quest, but may or may not have accumulated any RP from those steps.

Step 2: Accumulate RP, utilizing unknown (other than boss farming) methods. JP may or may not be an option, but we don't know yet.

Compare it to making a JSE weapon for Oboro. Step 1, getting one of the myriad relevant SoA clears only lets you begin the augmenting process, but it's unrelated to step 2, the actual gaining of points via plutons/beitetsu/boulders.

With the current wording and tiny tidbit of knowledge we have, it could go either way.

Didn't SE say we would be accumulating RP already, except its hidden, by just doing damage to the wave 3 boss?

It's one of the possible interpretations of the wording of what Funkworkz translated.

Quoting from freshly picked #40:

Here are the requirements to upgrade the RMEA weapon

Quote:
In order to upgrade, you'll first need to flag them
To flag the weapon, you'll need to accumulate enough total damage against the Wave 3 boss monster equipped with the corresponding weapon. (Example: For relic weapon, you'll need to accumulate enough damage against Wave 3 boss monster in Dynamis-Windurst (D)
There aren't any restrictions, such as whether the damage needs to be physical or magic damage. Furthermore, damage dealt by your party and alliance members will also count towards the accumulation.
Since the July version update, the total amount of damage is recorded onto the character itself.
You do not need to equip, possess the weapons you would like to upgrade
You do not need to be on the job of the weapon you would like to upgrade
Upgrade will become possible around September

So to flag the quest you either need to fight a wave 3 boss or pay jp, but to earn points you fight wave 3 boss or <insert mystery option>?
