Omen has a light-up effect on characters (and a sound effect) when the floor's primary objective is complete, right? I always assumed the Omen campaign was trying to say that the floor's main objective was easier to complete (as a result of the campaign). Sometimes you get a spectral light in omen anyway, and the campaign say you won't get a light in that case. (This campaign "benefit" is of course, underwhelming and on par with SE's typically lukewarm campaigns). But Buuki, you're saying it's related to the increasing treasure floors that randomly appear with 12/13 chests? ....I don't know man, I just pay my $12.95 like everyone else and can only guess what SE means to tell us in this context. It's possible, I've misunderstood the Omen campaign objective this whole time, but I've never felt that "two chances of omen lights" meant Treasure Floors. I always thought it meant "the floors primary objective is easier to mark as completed".
You're probably correct, but wouldn't it also apply to both instances indirectly, anyways? You get a free treasure floor when there's a "good" light, but since you get two, if it's a triple number, it would affect your chances of landing a treasure floor as well. I have just never associated those lights with the floor objective at all, because the floor objective is so absurdly easy, I couldn't have imagined they are gifting you a "free" pass at not killing one monster or whatever. I always saw the "good" light as the treasure floor. I could be completely mistaken, which I have stated a few times. But this comment makes it seem that the focus is the treasure floor. no mention of floor objective
Quote: Omen Light Double-Up Campaign
When this Monthly Adventurer Campaign is active, better omens appear when defeating monsters.
Two Omen lights will be activated when vanquishing monsters.
Note: If the first light is a good one, the second will not appear.
This means that you essentially have a better chance at obtaining bonus treasure floors.
I guess the counter to my logic is that you can't see a free treasure floor on smaller light path after Ou(?), but you can get a "free" light up on the floor when you enter, allowing you to bypass objectives. However, there are no visible "Omen" numbers in the log on smaller path (from what I recall), so even that doesn't make sense? Unless maybe the omens from the previous floor impact the light on the following floor. Idk.

Hm, not sure which it was that opened Int2, but now I have it. I just finished "Repelling an Ambuscade" in Int1, but also "Assist Channel" in Basics. It wasn't there after doing the 3x Skirmishes.
Edit: Related, in Int1, Artifact Reforger 1&2.. do they actually have to be 109 and 119 NQ AF? Not accepting +4.
Editedit: Found this mentioned an issue with +4 not working, but it was resolved. https://forum.square-enix.com/ffxi/threads/63504 I tried zoning while keeping it worn, and it worked. Shrug.

Anyway: I parsed the occurrence of the Treasure floor message posted above (1,166 omen runs from 2017-2026) and I found that 0/110 Treasure floor occurrences were from killing Ou. Here's a breakdown of which NM was killed before the treasure floor appeared:
Code
6 defeats the Glassy Craver.
9 defeats Kei.
10 defeats Kin.
12 defeats Fu.
14 defeats Kyou.
17 defeats the Glassy Thinker.
19 defeats Gin.
23 defeats the Glassy Gorger.
= 110 treasure floors I have less data, partially from deleted log files, partially from being finished farming these NM's but
12 Kin
10 Fu
4 Kei
7 Kyou
4 Gin
5 Gorger
6 Craver
8 Thinker
0 Ou
If anyone wants to parse their logs, heres a powershell command that worked for me thanks to AI (fair warning, its slow, but it exported what I wanted perfectly)
Open powershell and go to your log folder Code # 1. Define the search terms
$searchWord = "defeats"
$anchorPhrase = "other than peace and serenity"
# 2. Run the search across all .log files
& {
foreach ($file in Get-ChildItem MainCharName*.log) {
$lastFound = $null
foreach ($line in Get-Content $file) {
# Keep track of the most recent "defeats" line
if ($line -like "*$searchWord*") {
$lastFound = $line
}
# If we hit the anchor, output the saved "defeats" line
if ($line -like "*$anchorPhrase*") {
if ($lastFound) {
$lastFound
$lastFound = $null # Clear it so we don't reuse the same line
}
}
}
}
} | Out-File "Results.txt"
Write-Host "Search complete! Check Results.txt" -ForegroundColor Cyan
I'm gonna stick to my previous statement though, you cant get the treasure room after Ou.

It's tied to the points you get when you kill ***, no? Get a triple digit one (e.g. 777) and you get a free floor

Do you even get numbers on Ou path "small light"? I do that path every few days and I can't recall seeing any Omens from that path. The floor 2 Omens can potentially spawn a treasure floor but that's after the 3f boss. I haven't done enough Ou runs where I tracked my 2f omens to see if it ever landed on a triple number and subsequently spawned free floor afterwards Ou exit. But with logs, someone should easily be able to search for that condition and see if it exists.

just completed omen roe good path by doing standard detritus farming route (Ou) going to last floor before Ou
By Dodik 2026-05-12 07:49:56
If there's no data to support it I stand corrected on treasure chest floor after Ou, I don't have screenshots.
I do distinctly remember getting a chest floor twice after Ou, and we had done objectives on the big round floor before Ou.
For about a year we would do Omen every other day, farm Ou pops, then farm Ou 5x every week with farmed pops across multiple characters. So about 200-250 Ou kills in that time. Makes it a 1% chance or so, if it can happen.

Emergency maintenance on Temenos/Apollyon just concluded.
Also there's this
We have confirmed an issue with the following NPCs and have temporarily removed them from the game.
- One of the NPC "Dealer Moogle" in Port San d'Oria/Port Bastok/Port Windurst/Chocobo Circuit
We will make an announcement later regarding when the NPCs will be available again.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may be causing. Do you think it was infinite free Kupon items, infinite free Bonanza Marbles, or it ate your Kupon and you got nothing?

In my ls we farmed ou for years. Two event days were dedicated to get full pops on ourselves and mules (full alliance) then use ourselves on our main run and one mile at a time for the other runs. Three runs per event. Would take us a long time until we had to farm popsets again.
Never seen two chest floors in a raw after ou, but we've seen our good share of treasure floors (once) after ou. Was rare but was there. Like 5% maybe?
Was funny how some of us were zoning out before someone interacted with the exit orb lol

My guess is a little more boring: They copied the tables for the new sAF +3 kupon to sRel +3 or similar and made an error updating the IDs (or forgot to entirely) so one of the kupons or selections was giving the wrong rewards.
Dealer moogles have been around long enough that I'd like to think they use a common function for any new kupons to prevent exploits. None of the old kupons were exploitable. But, it is SE so who knows.

LS mate confirmed that Ambu Bow works for new RoE if anyone was wondering.
Also, don't think I saw specifically, but just entering Vagary works even if the RoE says "Complete Vagary".

It's probably some lore behind it, SE almost never puts stuff out without a meaning behind it.
"You don't get "Omens" (translation: bad routes) on Ou Path. You get "Omens" on normal boss routes. Thus, Ou path = "good", 5 boss routes = "bad".
Or in the Japanese client, "small light" path is probably somehow rendered "good light" or something similar. It probably made sense to JP players and we are like "tf is a good path?"
By Dodik 2026-05-12 15:22:41
It's a god damn AI translation is what it is. Path that makes roe clear = good. No roe clear = bad.
What, you think SE has translators on hand for an online game with constant misspellings of common words that already exist in the game with every patch?

I suspected this as well with the event for the Sh. Moogle Rod. It seems to me they copy-pasted the in game item name into the website post, but wasn't sure because they did a pretty good job with game-specific terminology.
Also while not concrete proof it does make sense. They already publicly said they want to replace human QA with AI going forward, what better place to start than with a product with relatively few eyes on it.

The phrase "光が膨れ上がる・・・・・・ツ!" is what is said when zoning between floors (small light), and the phrase "遂行せよ・・・・・・光は現れる・・・・・・。" is what is used when objectives are listed. The treasure room is "Treasure Portent".
I don't have the JP client installed on the PC I have available to me atm. What does the Omen RoE actually say in JP?

What does the Omen RoE actually say in JP? There's just one or more? I did the ambu ones rq to get the Omen one up.
Says オーメンの詰みルート which 詰み is what they call card farm/S. astral farming etc.

"Omen's dead end route" is a lot more obvious than "Omen Good Routes".

Specifically, the JP consider the 詰み route the big room with 10 monster types ending in Ou.
I'd assume the RoE clear will only trigger when entering the 10-type big room.

"Omen's dead end route" is a lot more obvious than "Omen Good Routes".
Google's also wrong here, but if you remove the word route (ルート) in the Japanese it becomes sort of correct.
The word 詰み is used for the equivalent of "checkmate." All the names for the main bosses in Omen come from names of pieces in the Japanese game shogi, which is sort of like chess. Ou is the equivalent to a king (JP: 王将, oushou). So this is literally saying "the checkmate route," or going for the king (aka going to fight Ou).
It's a tough one to make simultaneously fun and clear in English since none of the Caturae are named things like "rook" or "knight," but I have no idea how they settled on "good route."
Unrelated but I'll keep an eye on the AMAN stream tomorrow. Whoever does the live translations on reddit usually does a pretty good job, though, so I dunno if I'm gonna write too much about it.

Did they comment on the Ambu weapon trials working only with incomplete weapons? Are they gonna change it/fix it or did they specifically meant it to be this way?
Asura.Eiryl
By Asura.Eiryl 2026-05-15 07:47:25
I mean. It makes sense. If you're brand new you wonn't get a pulse for (months) so the full weapon not working doesn't matter.
It's silly that it's specifically excluded though
and it takes less than 2 minutes to make a kaja weapon, so, it's not really a big ordeal.
By waffle 2026-05-15 09:27:25
Caturae and chess was a thing with SE during Reisenjima now wasn't it.
From the beginning with Abyssea, all caturae have been named after chess pieces (or very similar games) in different languages.

I'm borrowing Martel's screenshot, but yes, they literally broke the decimal point (presentation issue). The skillups without decimal points are actually the skillups occurring to the 100th's place (i.e. that number divided by 100):
310
+3 (but is actually 0.03)
+4 (but is actually 0.04, so +0.07)
+3 (but is actually 0.03, so +0.10)
+5 (but is actually 0.05, so +0.15)
+0.1 (so +0.25)
+0.4 (so +0.65)
+1 (but is actually 0.01, so +0.66)
+0.5 (so it's +1.15)
...and there we have 311. (310 + 1.15 = 311.15),
Therefore the first line of text indicating where you've crossed a threshold into a new level of guarding skill.
