Personally changed from my older "main character" to the name that most people know me as from elsewhere in the community.

These other guys? Don't think there's any good intentions behind it.


Yes, post count is definitely the best measure of a community member's contributions.

The latter describes more than half the people I see posting in this forum. They always seem to find some way to slip in some insult, condescending remark or any other way to poke at someone while replying to them. This is not exclusive. Ever seen a picket rally? Those guys scream insults at each other for no other reason than they have different views.


It's all linked to the exact same account with the exact same character. Plus that one has a whole 2 posts. There is nothing he's hiding in doing this so there is nothing to gain.


You didn't answer the question. What constitutes a sock? I've been called one before because I didn't agree with someone when my character is linked and one of the oldest characters here. People around here have some very odd criteria for their definitions.

draylo and some others basically established this mentality around here, it's odd to say the least. if you grep'd draylo's post history about 60% of the 10,000 would have the word "sock" in them

Give the guy a break... maybe he just likes actual socks. I mean, I own many unexpected pairs. I work in an office and people comment on mine every so often. Today... it's black dress socks with Freddy Kreuger gloves on them.

Timeframe clearly has to play into this. Maybe more people know you under your current name and you want your forum name to represent that. Do I still have to post under Rairin, a forum account I made in 2007? Or Leviathan.Comeatmebro, a character I made around 2010?

Unless you're literally posting from multiple accounts in the same thread, I don't think it matters personally. Being anonymous is not an issue either, if an anonymous person is making meaningful posts then it shouldn't matter that they choose not to attach a character to their account. Something to be said about judging the content of the posts, not the person who's posting them, which seems to be a lost ideal here.

It's a lost ideal in a lot of places.

On the WoW forums, if you post on a Classic character, people cannot click on you and view your armory. People relied on being able to click on people's armory as a way to harass them. They seem to think that what your character has or has accomplished is what determines if you beat them in a debate or not or as a way to deflect. "You've not beat XX on Heroic therefore, your points are invalid" even though they're not yet forgetting we didn't even start out with an armory, so a point was a point.

It's just a poor way to deflect altogether. I view it the same way as when someone calls someone a troll clearly out of context. Most of the time, it's a simple way to evade accountability.

It's real, it's on the front page of this site. You can click the link and it'll take you to the page to fill out the survey. I think they are more interested in people relaying their experiences over the last 20 years than they are looking for suggestions. I'd keep that in mind and at least somewhat cater to what they are looking for.

I'm not saying you're wrong as it's not far-fetched** but I see that term tossed around so incorrectly lately and it seems we're all too quick to make that assumption. If you disagree with someone that much, don't even reply to them. I completely ignore people that I feel are as you described unless they're clearly a forum troll, then I'll chew them up and spit them out.

As has been pointed out, "antagonistic" and "drivel" are subjective and typically are used interchangeably with "words I disagree with".

Has anyone manged to keep up with the deeds to have 1440 (1430 you won't be able to grow & harvest for at least one more day unless you pregrew in anticipation)

Next month finally see reobtainable rewards.

I'm at 1430 but I usually wait a week or so before doing the gardening one cause its a chore. I'll post what happens if no one else has by then.

Are they cycling back through the old rewards?

I'm at 1430 and was going to ask about this. I was thinking that basically we have to claim anything we haven't claimed yet because we either choose to reset the prizes next month or we get nothing, right?

In whatever way they chose to "reset" yeah, I assume if you never picked up (item) from the first time through, you will lose access to it.

Not going to reset, but I did notice a counter for total resets.
