Random Politics & Religion #29: Hypocrisy edition
Funny to see all the earlier endorsements morph into anti-establishment finger pointing over the course of a few hours.

Some of the testimony supports details contained in what has become known as the Steele dossier. Page disclosed that he had met with Russian government officials and a top official at a state-owned oil giant during a 2016 trip to Moscow. Is Carter Page Digging the Trump Administration’s Grave? Three things the former campaign adviser revealed to Congress that should scare the White House. Vanity Fair And we know that they, or at least some of them, on both sides, wanted to collude, but so far it doesn't look like they succeeded. They plaster the race, the percentages, and the % reporting right there on the front page. All Fox does is say its too close to call, click on this article and read about how bad of a campaign the winner ran, and somewhere in the middle we will post the numbers. After Trump exiled him post election there was no shot in hell he'd win again. Good riddance CC! It's odd to see the party with no power gloating over minor victories.

Meanwhile past special elections were a referendum on identity politics or whatever catch phrase is the currrent jimmy-rustler du jour. If you think a trans woman winning an election against a man that penned anti-LGBT bills is a "minor victory"... YouTube Video Placeholder Ease up on the salt, it's bad for your heart! Offline

They were so happy when the GOP retained their seats in the 4 special elections, all red states, all having no impact on the state of the House. Now they lose a swing state election in a referendum against Trump, no big deal! The Democrats were the ones making a big deal out of the special elections, making them a referendum on Trump until after the election and going full reversal. You're just projecting at this point. Who's spinning now? Oh ok, lets just forget all the posts on this site at the time. Yeah right. You and nausi are clearly spinning around. Trump lost today. Steve Bannon was wrong again. Run on the Trump platform, lose.

Two states that voted against Trump in 2016 elected Democrat governors in 2017. Wow.

The Republicans gave it a great try but Virginia, especially NoVA is hyper liberal. It's basically the east cost California. The two political centers are the Washington Metro area and Richmond, both heavily Democrat. The country side is fairly conservative though which is why you have so many conservative Representatives yet both Senate seats are solidly Democrat and the Governor is typically Democrat with the occasional Republican sitting for a term or two. Basically you have the same situation that California and New York do, wealthy liberal elites living in the cities run everything. Offline

The Democrats are so hungry for a victory they are celebrating keeping what they have. NJ is the more interesting one though that's also a super blue state with a history of Democrat governors. Chris Christie was kind of an odd ball that got elected on his exaggerated personality which set him apart from the politically correct Democrats he was competing with. He *** off enough in the last few years that it was practically guaranteed he would lose his spot. |
