Is anyone able to boot into POL via windower4 after patching win 10? :( I loaded windower and tried to launch straight to POL and it does nothing and the windower4 program closes.
Why did I have to update my PC? :(

Win10 Fall update
Is anyone able to boot into POL via windower4 after patching win 10? :( I loaded windower and tried to launch straight to POL and it does nothing and the windower4 program closes.
Why did I have to update my PC? :( Offline
Windower always seems to break when Windows does major updates. Give it a day or two.
There's actually a pretty big security issue with WiFi clients so an update may not be the worst idea.
Hoping there's an quick fix if windower is broken again. I know I cant now, tried both normal and dev version wont work for me.

Could just not use wifi :D Unless you are on a laptop that has no ethernet port..... yeah its a thing.... ok now thats nifty, never even woulda thought that was a thing, should of known better.
You need to remember there's an adapter for everything
Yeah, I have to use one all the time, especially on Surfaces.
So i figured instead of sitting here id try to be proactive, what the hell why not, turned off firewalls, made sure windower was being allowed through firewall, turned off all virus protectiong, still wouldnt transition to PoL.
my windower wont transition to POL either, but mine has been like this for weeks now, got a new pc and went with win10 instead of windows 7... dumb move obviously.
A friend just reported windows 7 also got an update that crashed his too.
Try a system restore to before the update yet?

I'm in the middle of restoring to previous build. I'll post results when It's done.
Not sure this helps but I am now getting this message:
My computer started to install it this morning. I paused it for 7 days.
Hopefully a fix will come out by then. Oh look another forced Windows 10 *update* that breaks stuff. Must be a really great OS.

I restored to previous build and it works fine again. I just put the updates on hold for a month.

That being said, there's other settings people can change with gpedit, but that's hoping they don't have "home." It's a frustrating world we live in. I'm up to date on automatic Windows 10 updates, and no problem here.

You could also very well be, different systems react differently based on hardware and software and numerous other variables. This is why I laughed at Saevels comment since you can literally say the same thing for EVERY windows update ever to have been pushed since we could update online. If you want to know if you have the creators update, you can go to: Settings > System > About here if the version is 1709 and os build says 16299.xx you have the creators update just pushed, if not, you do not yet. could just run "winver"

Previous versions of Windows didn't make updates mandatory and remove control from the end user. They also didn't make advertising a standard "feature" of the desktop environment. |
