Early Reports Indicate That Everyone, Literally Everyone, Hates the Republican Health Care Plan
OK, its Slate but the article links all the republicans, and major republican organizations and think tanks, that are against it.

Openers:
Quote:
Congressional Republicans led by right-wing think tank test-tube baby Paul Ryan have been claiming for a solid eight years to be putting the finishing touches on a workable alternative to Obamacare. On Monday, Paul Ryan finally, really unveiled an Obamacare replacement bill. Everyone hates it.

No, seriously. Obviously liberals/leftists/Democrats were almost certainly not going to like it no matter what, and indeed, there has been nary a whisper of a rumor that even the most moderate Dems are interested in voting for the bill. But what's been really remarkable is how much heat it's gotten immediately from both the moderate and hard-line and insider and grassroots segments of Ryan's own party....

It's an interesting taking in the criticism. One side you have Conservatives and Liberals in agreement saying it's a piece of ***with the tax credits and continuous coverage caveats. Then on the other is Conservative think tanks like Heritage Foundation and the Koch conglomerates saying it's too Obama-y and it needs to be gutted further.

Then you have Trump saying this is just "phase 1 of a 3 phase plan", and both sides are going "wtf is up with this guy?"

I think the speed of its death is going to be determined in a few days when the budget guys formulate an estimate on how much it would cost. With language like tax credits to the lower income and tax breaks to the big insurers, its not gonna be cheap.

As long as the healthcare isn't provided by Adoulin medical. I hear mid-land adventurer types have to be imported because their trained physicians aren't capable in handling minor scratches and infections.

Wait I thought they had the opposition on the ropes and were about to deliver the knockout blow that would give them the victory they so dearly desired. What happened to the glorious peoples revolution against those evil greedy capitalist ***!!

Profs Tested Hillary’s Popularity As A Man. People Still Hated Her

The Federalist, cause, you know, some people get bent out of shape when you use a source they don't like.

Quote:
Two professors wanted to see what would happen if Hillary Clinton were a man and Donald Trump were a woman, so they cast actors to reenact a gender-swapped version of the presidential debates. What happened next surprised everybody.

Maria Guadalupe, an economics and political science professor at INSEAD and Joe Salvatore, a theatre professor at NYU, cast a female actress to play Trump, a.k.a. “Brenda King,” and a male actor to play Clinton, aka “Jonathan Gordon” in “Her Opponent,” a production that brought excerpts of the three debates to the stage.

Quote:
Salvatore says he and Guadalupe began the project assuming that the gender inversion would confirm what they’d each suspected watching the real-life debates: that Trump’s aggression—his tendency to interrupt and attack—would never be tolerated in a woman, and that Clinton’s competence and preparedness would seem even more convincing coming from a man.

Prior to the show, the professors surveyed the audience about their impressions of the real-life Trump/Clinton debates, then polled them again about the King/Gordon matchup immediately following the performance. Here’s what happened:

Quote:
We heard a lot of ‘now I understand how this happened’—meaning how Trump won the election. People got upset. There was a guy two rows in front of me who was literally holding his head in his hands, and the person with him was rubbing his back. The simplicity of Trump’s message became easier for people to hear when it was coming from a woman—that was a theme. . . Someone said that Jonathan Gordon [the male Hillary Clinton] was ‘really punchable’ because of all the smiling. And a lot of people were just very surprised by the way it upended their expectations about what they thought they would feel or experience. There was someone who described Brenda King [the female Donald Trump] as his Jewish aunt who would take care of him, even though he might not like his aunt. Someone else described her as the middle school principal who you don’t like, but you know is doing good things for you.

Throughout the election, it was obvious Hillary Clinton wasn’t very well-liked. In fact, more people had an unfavorable opinion of her than the number of those who had a favorable view of her. But a lot of the hate was attributed to sexism. If people disliked Clinton, they were often painted as bigots. The gender-swapping exercise peels away at that cheap analysis and suggests maybe there was a legitimate reason to dislike her after all.

Just commenting off the article, I mean:

Was a production necessary to figure out what people have saying for 25-30yrs? Or did the researchers/professors just want something to do?

Though it was interesting to see that people felt Trump was relatable yet unliked, which again was a common narrative in the media and something his campaign liked reminding the audience whenever they got the chance.

For those who question the purpose of the research, it's to show that sexism wasn't a key factor in Clinton's loss, regardless of what the liberal narrative is.

You know, kindof like how people disliked Obama not because they are racist, but because he is A) a bad leader, B) corrupt to the core, and C) ignores Constitutional Law, even though that is what he got (and lost) his law degree in.

Are the Democrats scrambling for a fall guy on the wiretap of Trump campaign?

American Thinker, cause, you know, bent out of shape people and all that.

Quote:
It appears to me that a trap has just sprung on the Democrats, and they need a fall guy. And we just got a huge clue as to who might be in the spotlight to take one for the team when it comes to culpability for covertly listening in on the conversations of the opposition party's presidential candidate.

Clarice Feldman explained the mess the Democrats created for themselves – what I am calling a trap – with her customary wit and brilliance on Sunday in "Trump: A Master Tactician Serves Filet After the Russian Soufflé Collapses."

My explanation for their problems is that The Obama and Clinton Gangs were so sure of themselves and their media dominance that they went ahead and made charges of Russian "hacking" and "collusion" with the Trump campaign, based on surveillance of that campaign. President Trump let them work up their outrage until momentum in that direction left them no chance of reversal.

Then he made his historic, and much vilified as "unsupported," tweet about a wiretap at Trump Tower and changed the discussion.

Now the investigation will include the Watergate-like probability that conversations of Trump campaign officials were being listened to and the conversations leaked to the media. There is criminal liability to consider and the need to pin responsibility on someone. All skillful criminals (the ones who stay out of jail for the big crimes) understand the need for a fall guy.

This brings me to something truly extraordinary: an attorney general, just weeks out of office, posted a video calling for "marching," "blood," and "death."

The chief law enforcement officer of the United States calling for political violence!

Why would she do that, and why now?

Clarice Feldman suggested that the denials of any knowledge of wiretapping by James Comey and James Clapper leave lovely Loretta Lynch exposed. Somebody gave the nod. And met secretly with Bill Clinton in her private jet at Phoenix Airport.

So what does the barely-former AG do? She plays the race card.

It is still too early to have a lot of confidence in this reading of the murky waters of the Democrats’ internal power plays, but it does fit the pieces together pretty well.

Stay tuned.

If the conversations were leaked to the media why hasn't the media reported them? The Dems are doing nothing but laughing at this story as the investigations into Trump's connections/interactions with Russia (and his repeated lies about them) continue unabated. But hey, funny blog.

Think Trump will corroborate his made up conspiracy theory today? Doubt it.
