Let me rephrase that.

Yes, I do talk to liberals. I talk to them on a weekly basis (my sister is a closet liberal, she just doesn't want to admit it yet).

I also have a lot of family members who are liberals, mainly from my father's side. It's always annoying, talking to them at reunions.

But yes, unlike others here on both sides, I do talk to people on both sides and I understand why they think the way they think.
Is she one of the smart ones or one of the dumb ones?

I think the more important question here is, "is she one of the hot ones?"

But yeah. Looks are subjective to me, but my brother-in-law used to be gay until he met her, so yeah.........

Not that I care either way, but I rather have him as a brother-in-law than any of the other creeps that she used to date. He is somebody I can trust with my life, much more with my sister and my niece/nephew.

He is a very good man.

Sorry. I gave Fone like 90 seconds to respond instead, but I figured if he hasn't responded in that timeframe he's busy doing something like making Simpsons .gifs or broadening his porn horizons.

So I stepped up to the plate.

Ha, I've been in a similar situation many times. I can't count the number of girls who turned gay after they met me. I must be really good looking.

I can top that one.

I can't count the number of times that men and women somehow started celebrated celibacy after I met them for the first time.

Damn I'm hot stuff!

I heard a story on the radio about a guy saying if you vote for Trump we can't be friends. It was the most petty thing I've heard of recently.

He was actively un friending all Trump voters he was friends with.

When in doubt, hand out participation trophies!

Sounds like an Onion article, but it's actually real!

Police calm Millennial protesters by handing out participation trophies

Quote:
U.S.—As anti-Trump rallies nationwide turned hostile overnight with widespread reports of violence, looting, vandalism, and death threats against the president-elect and his supporters, police in numerous major cities were able to instill calm and regain control by handing out participation trophies to all millennial protesters who were enraged about losing the election, sources confirmed.

The shrewd tactic was the idea of New York Police Officer Joe Butler, who has three twentysomething children himself, and noted to reporters Thursday that he remembered how his children “never had to deal with losing as they were growing up.”

“It’s a foreign notion to them. Even in sports—win or lose, everyone won, and everyone got a trophy no matter what. This is the millennial way,” he said. “So I had the idea—hey, why not start handing out participation trophies to the protesters, and telling them ‘Hey, you know what? You may have lost the election, but look—everyone gets a trophy. Everyone’s a winner.'”

Seeing how the trophies had an instantaneous calming effect on the millennials and filled them with a sense of fulfillment and achievement, word spread quickly among police departments nationwide, and emergency trophies were procured by the thousands for use at the rallies.

At publishing time, police had regained control in cities across the country, and the crowds of now-content protesters were heading home with their trophies, according to sources.

Also, screw you Rooks!

Even my most ardent of liberal friends didn't do that, but I've heard tell of it happening across teh intarwebz.

I think the most hostile think I've seen posted was from a very concerned homosexual friend asking some of our mutual friends how and why they felt any of Donald Trump's potential economic benefits outweighed the hate and negativity he's empowered in some backward people, even if he himself claims to not believe those things.

It was still a great mental visual. I'd check out their other stuff to see if it's also funny, but I'm afraid.

Did they just punk themselves?

4. If you care about facts, ignore the blatantly slanted.
Having a slant or taking a position on a story is not wrong in itself. What is wrong is when these ideas are taken as unbiased fact. You can avoid all of this by simply avoiding those sites to start with. Any website with the words: Conservative, Liberal, Democrat, Republican, etc. in the title are just advertising how slanted they are. That’s ok if you choose to live in your side’s bubble but please don’t have any delusions that these stories reflect the whole picture.

So, basically, we should just ignore everything the MSM says, especially HuffPost?

Potentially. I'd like to think it's a learning experience for them too, though.

I mean, then again. Maybe the actual Onion said it best:

As a nation, we're like the team that consistently runs the football right through the middle and gets blocked every time. We don't want to change the strategy, we just keep telling ourselves that we're not running hard enough.

While, at the same time, telling the other team they are touchdown-phobes because they are scared of us scoring.

Very apt, yet somehow a football analogy seems to make it feel even worse.

I'm just imaging trying to explain this to two drunk Bears fans full of bratwurst and shitty beer and this is how you have to do it. And it feels so...poignant. In a very, very depressing way.
