Heya, just in need of some quick guidance.
My game was working perfectly well a few hours ago but when I turned my laptop back on to enter the game I was being met with a POL-1400 error each time I hit 'Play' on the last POL screen. Any idea what this is?

POL-1400 here too... after zoning out of Escha - Ru'Aun. Seen other people D/C earlier as well. There was some windows update thing when Skjalf rebooted... hmmm....
Same. Crashed, tried to log back in, POL-1400 repeatedly. Guess I'm finished doing Ambuscade tonight.
I actually feel better that it isn't just me. Google gives very few hits, and what comes back is from like 2010 or earlier.
Possibility that a windows update has changed something in the registry?
I was able to log in an hour and a half ago, this must be more recent.
just got hit by this to was zoning got dcd, though it norm dcs me once a night lol tried to log back in and getting pol 1400 e.e
Checking in from Shiva. Was about to enter Dynamis (fortunately hadn't yet), r0'ed and haven't been able to get back in. Same error code.
I was changing gear in my MH when "someone logged into my account" and upon attempting to relog got the POL-1400 error. Asura.

Maybe the FFXI Dev Team is hot fixing things. ^^
If there's hotfixing going on, suddenly I'm really glad I just unloaded almost 2 mil in Archon Shields >.>

I'm pretty sure if they were going to adjust NPC values, they'd have to take the servers down.

You're right. I'm just bitter because I just came back last week after three years away and found legitimate fishing decimated because of the Beaucedine bots. Although, apples and oranges. NPC'ing Sparks still have to be earned legitimately.

Sooo... are SE even aware of this issue? I'm not seeing any notice on the official website about known issues. Did they let go all of their overnight operations teams aswell as the majority of the development team?
Well, they shut down the test server today. Within the last hour or so. Wonder if there might've been some spaghetti code that's causing login issue since it was an option on the login screen that's now gone.
So now we will have an increase of problems since a test server is no more? :(
I dunno. I mean, it appears we all experienced some form of getting booted about an hour and a half ago, which would've been, what, 4:30 in the afternoon in Japan? I'm really enjoying being back, but I spent most of the last few years on Blizzard games, and if like three computers sneeze at the same time, there's a tweet within 60 seconds. I forgot about SE's "customer service." :)

The public test server hasn't been used for a long *** time. They still have their development test servers though; and they are unaffected by this change.

No one knows because it might be a problem on the english client only.
I did a /sea all earlier, and it was at 304, now its at 333, and considering its the dead of night in NA and early evening in Japan, i'll presume those extra players are people logging in from Japan.
