Personally I'm getting to the point where whoever wins, I just hope there are record-setting third-party votes this year. Johnson and Stein all over the place.

And maybe a handful of write-ins for Alfred E. Newman.
I'm still thinking about writing in Ann Richards.

At least Zahrah would know who I'm talking about.

Ha! That wouldn't be a bad one if she wouldn't have died half-a-decade or so ago. I wouldn't mind G-Dub at this point.

People on both sides of the spectrum are clearly scared and upset and have no clue what the *** to do about it.

I certainly am.

Donald Trump is rat poison. He's not qualified for the post, is a hate filled maniac who worships dictators and won't do the job if elected to POTUS. That he hasn't changed his stance or attempted to take serious the position lifts the veil on what his administration would look like - other people doing all the work as he fakes it across the globe. I imagine many Republican pols are hoping to puppet him ASAP so long as he gets to pretend to be top banana.

The last thing I want is Trump anywhere near the Supreme Court.

And then we have Clinton, the textbook definition of status quo and realpolitik. She'd hawk harder than Obama, walk back most of the progressive material she's been forced to adopt, lies constantly and I don't give a *** about the emails because she's sketchy just based on her past She's not worthy of trust, but I cannot deny she could do the job. Trump cannot.

So here I am trying to sell myself on Clinton because the DNC sabotaged Sanders and Trump is such ebola that I'd vote just to keep that guy out.

I'll admit, given that hindsight is 20/20, she is still a better governor than Bush and Perry....

Abbot? Don't know yet. He can still do good, but he can also still *** it all up.

The only thing Hillary will do at the convention is this: racist sexist homophobic. It's like she reads the FFXIAH talking points.

Trump supporters are scared out of their minds. That's how he's getting the support he's getting. He's tapping that fear.

And Sparth covered Clinton's side of the equation pretty well.

The amount of white guilt on display at the DNC will be so high. White liberals in the crowd will drink till they forget they are white.

Absolutely!

Funnily enough, Ramy and I talked about this over a month ago. When we got back from Port A my husband had a meeting with one of his vendors' owners who lives in Highland Park said that, despite being a life-long Dem, he loves Laura and George one-on-one. He also noted that they are both genuinely kind and amiable people departed from politics.

Add that to the random acts of kindness across the state and being a benefactor of small art galleries.

Of course you're scared. You won't phrase it as such because testosterone, but you're scared shitless. We all are.

I don't know of what, I don't know you personally. But that's what politics has become. "I'm afraid of (this) happening, so I'd better support this person!"

What do you fear? Not being able to feed your family? Being treated the way a minority gets treated now? Bear attacks? Celebrity Apprentice being played out with White House interns?

Frankly all of these things worry me at least a little, now that I think about it. The bears being the least troublesome.

The point is, that's how politics works. Making you scared for yourself or your family or or standard of life, and getting you to support the person who will let you keep that or move up in the world.

Quote:
Ansbach, Germany (CNN)The Syrian suicide bomber who injured 15 people in a Sunday night attack on a music festival in Ansbach, Germany, left behind a video pledging allegiance to ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, Bavarian Interior Minister Joachim Herrmann said Monday.

In the video left on a mobile phone, the 27-year-old Syrian announced his threat to carry out an attack "as an act of revenge against Germans, because they obstruct Islam," Herrmann told a press conference. The man said the attack would be committed in the name of Allah as retaliation for the killing of Muslims. The bomber, who has not been named, was killed.
"I believe that after this video we cannot doubt that this attack was an Islamist terror attack," Herrmann said.
Four of the 15 victims were seriously injured in the attack, Ansbach Mayor Carla Seidel said at a news conference Monday.

Actually, he parroted most of the liberal's arguments against Trump.

That's like me saying that Obama is a Muslim or Clinton let 4 people die on 9/11/12.

I shudder to think of the countless dictators and despots that this world could spawn if random people were given the chance at such power.
God forbid myself going into power.

At least I know I would abuse it at the first moment I get.

You think the world is shitty now? Wait until after a year of me.

I don't have a clue how I would act, but I guess that's the point. Nothing knows what they're capable of until they're given full reign, and I imagine that even a majority of U.S. presidents would have abused that power to extremes as well if it weren't for the checks and balances. I guess it's good that Washington was the only one to get offered the position of king, because I can't imagine any modern politicians turning that down.

Question for the class: If given power, would you abuse it, or will you just warp your personality around it?

And ask yourself this question: Why do I automatically assume that you won't bend your will against said power and not change against it, making it yours and doing what you think is right with it?

Way to perseverate.

Literally any group of people can look like a "Klan meeting minus the robes."

Now stop validating the handful of holdout blatant racists in the country by talking about them more than they deserve.
