Modems?

Tired of paying this modem rental fee from my ISP, so was looking to purchase one.

If I were to get the exact same one I'm renting, I'd only pay 20-30 bucks. That said, I've seen some expensive modems, so what's so good about the expensive ones? What makes them cost that much more?

If I'm not having trouble with my internet now, would it be sufficient to just get the identical model?

some come with better wireless capabilities.
better network monitoring
better network security
etc etc.

if you're internet is acting like ***, possibility it can be something more than just the modem. but yeah.. renting a modem bleh
