I've been curious about the JP Cure Potency upgrades. Putting JPs into Afflatus Solace gives 2% cure potency per dot.. so if you're under afflatus solace with max JPs, does that mean you only need 20 Cure Potency in gear?

Also, for the Gift Bonus from JPs where you get the Cure Potency, same question?

I looked for a topic on this, but saw nothing. A little explanation would be very helpful, thanks ahead of time.

On mobile so going to be very brief. But JP solace ignores anything to do with 50% cure potency cap. For example if you have 50% cure potency without solace Cure II cures 200HP. However, if you put solace up Cure II will cure 220, etc. Think of JP solace as its own thing.

JP cure potency doesn't go above cap. So with +2% cure potency JP gift; you'll need 48% in gear to be capped.

Same with JP cure spell casting reduction.

In addition to that, are the gifts cumulative or additive ?

For example:
If I had a Cure Potency +2% gift and then my next cure potency gift is +4%, do I now have +6% or have I just upgraded to an overall of 4%?

I believe it upgrades to 4%, I really haven't taken the time to look at it, but I know that's how the JP gift capacity+ rolls.

No, the JP gifts are added together cumulatively. When you get Physical Evasion +5, then later +8, your /checkparam will go up +5 then +8, for +13 total. CP bonues are the same way. MAB is as well. I don't see them doing anything else differently.

Good to know! I figured CP +22% then another +25% and so on were too broken to stack.

They do stack, thats why the more CP+ gifts you get, the faster CP will roll in for you! (This is at least what I have been told,, and that is why gift's become fewer the higher you get because you will be getting a lot more CP, but you will also be needing it aswell.

Think about it, updrades to in categegories become very expensive, and they will continue to do so if they decide to go up by another 5 points per category.

I was led to believe the cure potency wasn't a percentage but where it says it increases cure potency by 2, it is literally increasing your base cures by 2hp cured.

Not exactly, but close enough.
It's increasing what we have deemed "cure power" in the cure formula.
Which can be a 1:1HP ratio, but not always. It's very similar to a skill increase.

But it's NOT a %.
Wish they had used a different term to make the difference more readily perceivable... Instead of the percent has quotes on the cure... But, "cure power" was a fan term.

As posted on the whm thread:

Heres the testing results. I didn't do with Cure 6 because I do not have the HP for it lol.

I am Black Mage subjob
I have 8/8 healing magic skill merits
I have 20/20 Solace job Points
I have 2 cure potency gifts for a total of 10

Gears I used for the scale from 40% to 50%
serenity 30% cure potency(I have fully augmented)
sifahir slacks 10% cure potency
piety duckbills +1 10% Cure potency

Lets get started
No solace & No gears
Solace & No gears
C1= 71C1= 111
C2= 146C2= 186
C3= 315C3= 355
C4= 580C4= 620
C5= 737C5= 777

Note:We can conclude that the solace cure effect is +40 and not +40%

Here's for the rest.

No solace & 40%
Solace & 40%
C1= 100C1= 156
C2= 205C2= 261
C3= 448C3= 504
C4= 826C4= 882
C5= 1043C5= 1099

Note:This concludes the solace effect is a base power.

No solace & 50%
Solace & 50%
C1= 109C1= 169
C2= 222C2= 282
C3= 483C3= 543
C4= 892C4= 952
C5= 1122C5= 1182

Note:If you compare it with the 40% table, this conclude that the cure potency gifts aren't counted toward the 50% gear cap and it's somehow added to the base power.

Conclusion:
Solace Job points are added to the base power AFTER the gifts are and they get multiplied with the gear cure potency.

Gifts aren't cure potency counted towards the 50% cap and are added to the base power before the solace Job points. We came to the conclusion with further testing that it's not a %

Can you also conclude that the formula is this?:
(Base * JP Cure Potency + Solace) * Cure Potency from gear

Otherwise you would have expected 44 HP from Solace with your +10% Gift cure Potency, right?

To be honest it's nearly impossible to assure you it is right now, I would need to get to the next Cure potency JP gifts and test it to confirm as you cannot trigger it on and off :(

Also seems impossibru for me to get JP on whm on Asura!
Comon people let me in ;_; I will look pretty
Someone came to the rescue.

It should look like this:

((Base+Gifts+Solace JP)*Gear Cure potency%)
