There are a lot of terms that only apply to a certain region of the world that is meant to be insulting and racist. I could call you a wetback and you wouldn't know that I was insulting you. I could say wetback to a person here in South Texas and they know the racial implications behind the word.
Which is the point I was going to make if Spath answered. I know he isn't from Texas, so he wouldn't have seen the implications.
Well, yeah different words have different meanings in different cultures...but I think if a person explains it wasn't intended in that fashion and was just a misunderstanding it could very well be dropped..
