Michiru Yamane composing the music! Please people back it if you liked SOTN or any of the other IGA games! Was going to consider it until they revealed Inti Creates is handling the game, as well as $28 minimum to back to get the game itself.
Would have gone $15 like a normal kickstarter, maybe $25 for a bonus on top of the game (like digital soundtrack), but nah. After Mighty No. 9 being exactly like this one with it's kickstarter (Concepts everywhere), and seeing Yooka-Laylee recently with a full video in the engine they're using, I just can't support Iga's lack of vision at this time. If he refines it more before the funding period ends, and maybe introduces a lower goal to buy just the base game, I'll gladly change my tune. A month of XI time is more worthy of a risk than three months of XIV time, to give a quick idea of money breakdown. Idc, they could ask me for 500$ or my firstborn or my Soul.
It's *** IGA, I'd gladly hand them over <3 Reason succumbs before the might of IGA. SotN is my favorite of all the castlevania games. I'm very interested in this.
Edit... In the time it took me to read the entire project... they gained 50k... Over a mil now. They'll probably crush their last remaining stretch goal tonight. Wonder if they'll be able to add anything else given how much more it might make.

Wonder if they'll be able to add anything else given how much more it might make. edit: The top goal was 800k when I looked at it so they're definitely adding more as they go ;) I think the interesting thing is that they actually have sponsors so the game is going to cost significantly more than the original 500k they were trying to earn and the goal was more to prove to the investors that there is a market for the game. I think it can be said that people are interested. 17k people are willing to part with 1.3m in the first day of the project being opened and willing to do so with only the promise of a product in 2+ years and no reward today.
I'll say they probably underestimated the interest in this by an order of magnitude but we'll see what happens by the end of the month. It's no surprise they underestimated it.
Didn't we see the same exact thing happen for Mighty no. 9? Yet there has been a lot of drama involving MN9, but that has largely to do with how Comcept handles things. (and personally, while I cannot deny their relevance, a lot of the things people were getting fussed on about in place like NeoGaf, were greatly exagerated or simply not worth all that drama) Put down my $28.
It's still two years away but if a game can give me even half the same enjoyment I've gotten out of SOTN over the years, it's worth that twice over. Well... It's got 96 minutes left. If you want to get in on any of the kickstarter now's the last chance.
They are at 11 times their kickstarter's goal now. Pretty impressive. https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/iga/bloodstained-ritual-of-the-night/description |
