Not on my PLD character right now, but I believe this is what I use or quite close to it. I think the back is HP, Enmity, Eva/Meva, more Meva, and more meva. Might have HP for dyes (though I should change that...)

ItemSet 395411

You can adjust this without the warder/shadow ring for physical-only fights, but let's be honest those are few and far between and DT is already capped so...not much else to add in those slots. More HP I guess. You can adjust a little bit as you see fit.

Head - Used in shield block sets, as needed in FC or some situations where you're taking high physical damage.

Body - Used in some SIRD and enmity sets.

Hands - I personally don't use these due to low +HP.

Legs - I give Sakpata's the edge here, but these are still useful in situations where enmity retention is needed.

Feet - Used with Divine Emblem. Could also be used in FC and enmity sets, but has lower than normal +HP like the hands.

I've been really liking the enemy crit reduction, really mitigates damage.

The biggest benefit from Empy +3 is the flexibility it's given many tanking sets. Capping DT was never difficult for PLD, but the large amounts of DT per piece are nice. Besides the standard 35 DT from three pieces together, you can also get another 2~10 DT from the body. It makes stacking different stats such as -Enemy critical hit rate, Chance of successful block+, Absorb, Annuls, HP, Enmity, Cure Potency Received, Resist! and elemental resistances much easier. I've got pieces of it sprinkled across multiple sets depending on whether I'm focused on PDT, MDT, both, etc.

I mean if you arent using the TP and dont have something like a burt/care for the extra PDT, no real negatives to doing so.

I have two sets of macros for PLD, one for weapon/shield swapping and one without. In my weapon swap sets I change out shield for Srivatsa, but the FC question is kind of a weird one because you're either using GS or not.

If you're using GS, it's my understanding that you can't possibly be caught in your FC set because it sends the FC gear in the same packet as your midcast gear so you may as well swap all slots for FC.

If you're not using GS, I don't think it's worth using Sakpata's sword since you only have 3 macro lines for FC gear and we already have empy head, feet, and AF body. I guess if you're idling in the empy head then you could use Sakpata's sword as your third swap.

Interesting food for thought at least. I haven't integrated any FC swaps into my PLD macros but I am considering it. I idle in empy hat so it could be AF body, empy feet, and some other piece (maybe sword for my weapon swap macros).

Yeah definitely using GS and have Burtgang. I like the idea of having two macros (or in my case gearswaps), one with and one without swapping main/sub.

How much damage is PLD doing on Aminon (% wise) with either KOTR or CDC?

On Aminion hard as Pld/Sch, I preferred club/judgment which equate to roughly 8-9% of total damage.

Our 9boss PLD just grabbed the stage 3 sword for adding extra DPS to aminon. He's doing ~35k's with bare minimum equips.

What's the best set for it? I figure it's weird because DEX/MND mod. double Fotia? all Nyame or sakpata instead? im sure theres plenty of "Solid" options that make little difference, just curious.

something like;

nyame x5
jse neck(15 MND)
moonshade
dominance earring +1(or lugra, itll be best under latent anyway)
kentarch belt +1 r15

WS rings vary depending on what TVR ring you picked up but i think you get the idea, nyame WSD i dont think can be given up and the rest of the slots are just either or, cant think of much if any good pieces that have both dex and mnd

Whats a PLD getting off? Maybe 10 WSs at 1000ish TP? So 50k extra damage with Prime3 assuming he's using it at 1000. More is more but that's a single WS from BRD,COR,DNC,GEO,RDM.

I think im doing about 200k dmg on PLD, spamming KoR at 1000 TP

I've been holding this in for a long time. I really just can't take it anymore....

BAD PALADINS USE SIRD PHALANX SETS.

Between, Sentinel, Shield Blocking, and just basic 101 timing where you cast before pull, there is no valid reason to do this. You can even have a RDM put a longer duration cast on you if for some bizarre niche reason whatever trash you pulled isn't dead in 3-4 mins.

I used to do this as like training wheels when I was learning to hold 40-60 mobs but then I did what normal people do and learned how to play the job.

That crap idea just needs to die, get better at tanking. Stop using garbage potency spells as a crutch.

You linked the PLD WS sets and theres no set for Imperator. I get that you can just copy paste the Savage set but given that it's a DEX/MND mod I figured it's worth asking if theres any differences, and/or if Fotia for example would exceed JSE neck.
Given that it's single hit, probably not? but I'm not a paladin

Wouldn't it just be reasonable to have both?... If your pulling a large group in sheol C and you get dispelled I don't expect the tank to just fall over because he cant recast phalanx, I'd want them to change sets and get it back on

Nothing wrong with asking the question. It's valid to ask if there's are optimizations to be made that are different from Savage Blade.

I had run the numbers in my own private time (what little of it I have) and information available as it trickled in and didn't find a big difference. I didn't see any merit to adding a separate set in the Community Guide in my personal section so the Savage Blade set(s) will more or less cover it without much issue.

Appreciated, if anything could prob swap the belt to Kentarch or Luminary, but everything else does seem pretty streamlined.

Not really... If you're shield blocking with Duban and Reprisal, you'll get Phalanx reapplied in 1-2 casts because shield blocks prevents interruption and the cast time on phalanx with a good fast cast is ~1 second. If you are getting hit from all sides, pop sentinel. If sentinel is down and you are desperate then invincible. If you are getting knockback then a SIRD set won't stop interruption either.

It's just bad tanks advocating terrible play habits. I have tanked everything in this game 50 times over. Odyssey, Dynamis, Omen, Sortie, even Apex Crawler prenerf cleaving with 64+ mobs smacking me at a time.

YOU DO NOT NEED A SIRD PHALANX SET. IT'S A CRUTCH FOR BAD TANKS.

If someone wants to use it because they acknowledge they are a weak player then go for it. What they should really be doing is practicing their gameplay, positioning, and paying more attention to their buffs.

Use an enmity set for Flash.

It's a 0.5 second cast time with no fast cast....

OMG, please tell me that was sarcasm?

Cause nothing surprises me here anymore.
