For All Of You Diagnosed With Adhd. |

for all of you diagnosed with adhd.
I find this kind of disturbing.
A website that promotes organic medicine has an article against a condition that has pharmaceutical medicine as the treatment.....
.....anyone else see the conflict of interests here? Not to say it's not severely over diagnosed, but it is an actual thing.
One of the issues of prescribing medicine to treat things we can't objectively prove, or that aren't required to be reviewed. What's that over there? *Leaves* I read it. Did you?

Time has an article also.many places have them. Of course I couldn't find one on any of the major medical publications. Asura.Wormfeeder said: » I read it. Did you? I wish I could get diagnosed with ADHD. I need to lose some weight and legal meth would be so helpful.

I was diagnosed as hyper active when I was a kid probably would have called it add or adhd now I was prescribed Ritalin then valium none worked. I went another doctor he told my mom to get me more active in strenuous activities. Within a week of swimming and judo classes there was a huge difference. Drugs are not always the answer. I bet if more parents regulated their kids activity in front of the tv and computer and made them exercise you would probably cure most add and adhd children instead of making them life long stimulant junkies.

that is the whole crux of the "fictitious disease" Argument.
It's not that the disease itself is fictitious, but that rate at which doctors are diagnosing it, when it just means a child is bored, and needs to be active, or find a way to engage in active learning. One method I saw when I was a kid, was tasking a child diagnosed with add/adhd was to do something physical, then associate said physical activity with the subject matter. It was one of the methods of treating certain childhood disorders (along with general improvement of physical and psychological health) developed, or generated by Leon Eisenberg, or attributed such methods of "controlling" or "curtailing" disruptive behavior in classroom settings. Oh no, a kid can't sit still for 60 minutes, or gets bored of ***they have no interest in! It must be ADD!
/insert south park episode here. I was bored to tears and disruptive in school as a kid.
Fortunately this was before ADHD was invented otherwise I would have been wired to the gills on speed. And I have seen what speed does.... I was the opposite kind of bored. Instead of causing disruption, I'd pull out a novel and still answer the teacher's questions when she thought she could catch me. Much can be said about school being dull.
Have children from ages 6 to let's say 16 doing some type of manual labor all day long instead of going to school. Once they turn 17 then you can have the option to learn something or continue doing manual labor for the rest of your life.
That'll fix a bunch of problems. Offline

I did this with Maths + Physics (which is basically Maths), although that's more a product of idiots being given diploma's rather than amazing skills on my part I think. |
