You want to talk about poor kids that should have never been conceived because their parents are *** terrible human beings. Doubly so for the babies born addicted to coke and heroin. Children eating of of the garbage because parents haven't fed them for days on end isn't immediate physical danger. Got it. None of my business. I bet you're the kind of *** who thinks beating women is okay too because she totally chose to be with that guy. We reproduce through sex. period. It may have other uses as well but you've got to have a pretty serious denial structure to be able to exclude reproduction from it entirely. ...and you resort to name calling. If a woman chooses to remain with someone who repeatedly abuses her, it is not my place to prevent her from making that choice. I'd certainly advise her against doing it. "Not my business" has nothing to do with approving of something, just recognizing that I am not entitled to force people to do what to do. Blazed1979 said: » Monty Python. What about fetuses who are diagnosed with down syndrome, sickle cell disease, cystic fibrosis, muscular dystrophy, etc. via amniocentesis?

Last time you said anything that affected the implantation in the uterus. Edit: from previous thread Ragnarok.Nausi said: » No! You are incorrect, if the medication alters the uterus so that the egg isn't capable of being implanted, they abort the pregnancy. Topics of BC and abortion are really becoming a fool's errand on here, unfortunately. EDIT: Then again, maybe they always were. It's all_my_fault. It's okay. In the spirit of Friday, maybe we should nix the frustrated/sad GIFs. My humble offering... EDIT: Beer and kids that made it thread AHOY! DOUBLE EDIT: Beer as the cause for the kiddos who made it? Hmmm? Don't think of it as abortion. Think of it as making angels~

Jokes aside, I'm not excluding it entirely. I'm just stating that from a human perspective it's the least important aspect of the act. As far as name calling, what do you want me to say? I think you're being a ***! "Not my business" is the battle cry of thousands of years of standing by and letting bad things happen to people because getting involved is uncomfortable. Disabled people can't live wonderful lives? They all deserve a shot to. Coincidentally, this is a huge reason why my wife and I won't have children. We are not prepared to take care of someone with severe disabilities, and as that is always a possibility with children, and we would feel responsible as such, we're simply not having them. If we're lucky, and if people like Nausi stop getting in the way, hopefully we'll be able to screen out and alter away these things during pregnancy in the decades to come. You think I'm scared to get involved? That's not the case. There's a difference between getting involved and offering help and getting involved and taking over. If some girl wants to live with an abusive guy, that's really her business. She's free to leave every time it happens and you can't really make the decision to leave for her. Auto-abort shouldn't be the answer to all genetic disorders. I think that's ultimately a private choice between the parents and the physician. Individuals with down-syndrome can go on to live a decent quality of life. Some genetic disorders reduce human life expectancy significantly. I'm talking to about less than 20 years... Additionally, even with today's medicine those <20 years are hardly what I would consider quality of life. Bahamut.Baconwrap said: » Ragnarok.Nausi said: » Auto abort shouldn't be the answer ever. But you have to agree with me on this, most abortions being used today are not for probable major birth defects, but because Suzy got knocked up by Bobby at the school prom, and neither wants to take care of the kid.
