I didn't say that, but don't you think it's worth considering other options which doesn't create radioactive waste you can't get rid of for the next 10 000 years? Let's start worrying about that 9,000 years from now. "People in the future will deal with it" is a terrible way of applying any kind of policy. You have to think about the consequences of what you do, whether they're short term or long term.

It's worth the risk, considering the severe superiority. For the record I'm for nuclear energy to bridge the gap to inevitable progress in the renewables.
Solar panels ALL the deserts! Lakshmi.Sparthosx said: » For the record I'm for nuclear energy to bridge the gap to inevitable progress in the renewables. I mean making more energy efficient appliances will help reduce the power consumption overall (LED lights are a severe bonus on that one, despite their flaws, don't get me started either). But without some major changes (like having solar panels on nearly every building) going to full renewable anytime in even my lifetime is probably a pipe dream. We should have fussion reactors efficient enough to use commercially way before that. Phoenix.Amandarius

Don't need solar panels for homes, biosolar is a thing now. Using plants' photoynthesis to produce energy.

Back to price gouging and profiteering, if Climate Change/Global Warming is such an immediate emergency and disaster, why is there no outrage over how absurdly expensive solar panels, the soultion, are? It is profiteering. It is price gouging during an emergency.
It would cost about 10,000 dollars for me to get one and I would still be partially on the grid. If they received more funds they'd cost less.
