And transparency is good, but it probably requires its own thread of doom, otherwise everytime an action is taken the discussion happens in that thread.
Man Huckabee is a tool... First he comes out in support of The duggar kid telling us how he is supporting him and even though he did something wrong he is sorry and he will be forgiven...
then he comes out and openly mocks Trans folk... So does the kindness and understanding just go out the window if you don't like or support the idea? I mean I get disagreeing with it but still... how do you show so much support for someone that does something blatantly wrong and then got covered up... and then just openly mock others that just want to be themselves? I fell asleep during their interview with Megyn Kelly last night. I haven't seen the interview. I thought it was being aired friday or something. I've only read an article on that and one thing is that the victims names should never have come to light.

I wanted to see what the sisters had to say, but I didn't make it that far in. The parents repeatedly emphasized that most of the touching was done over the clothes, and squeaked out once that there were a couple of instances of up skirt. Does someone support you or help you pander to a certain population? Forgiveness is divine, friend! Does someone vote against you and it costs you no votes a -- and maybe gains you a few -- to badmouth them? THEY'RE SINNERS, PERVERTS AND PEDOPHILES AND ARE GOING TO BRING THE WRATH OF GOD UPON US! His hypocrisy here is off the scale. That said, the people jumping at the Dugars are pretty *** awful too, to be honest, because as much as I may dislike them and the actions comitted, it happened when the perpetrator was a minor and at this point you're making the victims re-experience all kinds of emotional distress to prove a political point...that someone is a bad person...so you do something...that re-traumatizes victims and re-condems someone who did something as a child himself when all parties have moved on... I think Zah is saying they only once said there were a couple instances of upskirt.
EDIT: Not that anything they're saying justifies or lessens what happened at all. Squeaked out once in the entire portion of the interview that there were a couple of instances of fondling. I should have worded that differently.
They also harped on the fact that the girls were asleep and "had no idea what had happened", as if that makes the situation better. They also stressed that they took the opportunity to remind the girls of "bad touch". As expected, it was mostly about them and their son. Then again, I didn't make it to the girls' portion of the interview. I have it on DVR, though. EDIT: They also kept reiterating that he was a "a child". :/ A fourteen/fifteen-year-old isn't a "child", and knows better than to fondle a five-year-old. Wow, I actually agree with you. The kid was what 14, 15? Mind you that in no way excuses his behavior, but the haters are just chomping at the bit looking to ruin the lives of this family they have an irrational hatred for. I mean aside from the police report, what do we know vs what are we filling in the blanks with? Offline

I will say this: Child molesting is not funny...unless you are dressed up like a clown!

Since I'm a contrarian I'm going to argue in favor of child molestation !
Is it not better to be molested by someone you know then a stranger ? Here's a thought what if the duggar's claim child molestation of part of their religion ! Sorta like pledging to get into a fraternity. Caitsith.Zahrah said: » Lakshmi.Flavin said: » I haven't seen the interview. I thought it was being aired friday or something. They hired a PR guy appearantly to help em spin it. they seemed to have gone on the offense to accuse others of wrongdoing. |
