In any event, Comcast's existence isn't particularly meaningful for me anymore. Although I can say I've had to contact my ISP here... once? in the past seven years. I guess for you, it means "still provide services even though they are not taking new customers" which for everyone else, it doesn't mean that they were "shut down" An extended timetable to prevent lawsuits, and to transition the customers over to Sprint plans is shutting down in most books, I guess not yours, I apologize.
Kinda makes me wish I didn't have Sprint, but they're basically the only ones left with unlimited data anymore, so whatevs. Offline

Honestly I rather support Comcast who says evil people are bad ?
According to my hippie ideals any company that makes money is evil. Well unless they donate have their profits to some grass roots pot movement. fonewear said: » Honestly I rather support Comcast who says evil people are bad ? I don't like Chrome that much I normally use Firefox. They are evil I'm sure though.
fonewear said: » Honestly I rather support Comcast who says evil people are bad ? I've said it countless times. I have little complaint about my services through Comcast that I can say are their fault (there was a time period where they were throttling me but it appears that has subsided, apropos to federal action or otherwise I'm not sure). My main complaint is simply Hell, even when I get ahold of their stateside customer support they're pretty good. One of them even told me flat-out with honesty that yes, there were throttling me and it wasn't my own hardware. Fiddling with all those settings gets irritating every time I go to a new site. Ipso facto we arrive at Firefox: the #1 browser for porn! And KN, you'll be thrilled to know that I've considered a lot of things in the past 24 hours and while I don't like many aspects of the things we've discussed, I do accept the reality of them.
It's really been a long ~48 hours or so for me and it's not over yet. So maybe expect some mindless rage at something silly sometime soon. But on yesterday's topics of business and fiscal operations I'll certainly conceed a point or two as necessary, if not the most stomachable. Offline

I'm still curious why anyone under any circumstance would want to work at Gamestop.

In case you haven't noticed, I haven't been posting much about various topics I'm not affluent with (main case would be global warming), but when it comes to businesses, tax, and government, I can say that I know more about these topics than anyone else in this forum. Which is why I'm so adamant about my posts regarding them. fonewear said: » I'm still curious why anyone under any circumstance would want to work at Gamestop. Offline

I would rather work at Wal Mart if given the choice the idea of talking to gamer nerds all day would drive me nuts.
I like video games don't get me wrong but I have a limit to how much I care. Let's just say I don't like "gamers" but I enjoy games. Or are you talking about the plugins? yeah I stopped using noscript because it got on my nerves, but I almost never have to touch adblock. Asura.Kingnobody said: » fonewear said: » I'm still curious why anyone under any circumstance would want to work at Gamestop. Mostly because at least with Gamestop you're working with more people who are like you and who like what you like. I never chose to work there because I hate the forcing things on people (gamer's clubs, magazines, whatever). And the pay and hours was similar to where I already was at Walmart. Asura.Kingnobody said: » I guess I should take what I can get. At least I'm glad that you are finally accepting other people's knowledge. I think there's room for improvement in most facets of things that wouldn't harm the bottom line, and some places even do those things, so I guess I just live in hope more places do them eventually. It's all a matter of perspective, and as you're one of the few that it's not "shut down" for, you consider it not, while for everyone else, it is. Jetackuu said: » Or are you talking about the plugins? yeah I stopped using noscript because it got on my nerves, but I almost never have to touch adblock. Noscript is the big one. I haven't used it as my primary browser in a long time though (about two computers now, so approximately 4 years) so I'm not really sure how other plugins or security for it hold up. I use AVG on both my PC and laptop as far as security goes. You cannot believe how easy it is to find bad business practices, just by reviewing their annual reports. And because of SOX Act, those annual reports have to be as accurate as humanly possible, with no material errors, and if there is any, not only is the company liable, but the CPA firm who attests on the financials and the officers themselves can be held liable and very possibly can have criminal charges brought to them. Expect you haven't really heard of any corporate fraud (Knight Investments was the last known case of corporate fraud, and that was back in 2008) in recent years. I'm never going to deny humans being humans, but I trust businesses a whole lot more than government in terms of ethical behavior and moral standards. Mostly because of the legal ramifications associated with it. I figured that there were state charters preventing this practice, but if the FCC is involved, then that should take care of that, hopefully. Now, is that practice still going on? What happened in the past doesn't matter if the present is different. Employee treatment, relations, and compensation is my biggest gripe. Many of those are readily fixable if our country would adopt the employment compensation (benefits, that is) standards of some other civilized countries. There is also Mil's example. But within the scope of what you're discussing, I'm sure you're right the majority of the time. To be fair to GM: people put too much stupid ***on their keychains.
