Thanks to Square-Enix I believe that I need to kill animals to absorb their souls into my own. "A Middle-Eastern man with a banana sword was gunned down by cops today. More news at 11." I"m offended by this I think I"ll blog about it on Salon.com ! Asura.Kingnobody said: » Again, it's not the first time a state defense force was used to oversea a military exercise on that state. But you are so desperate to paint Texas in a bad light that you are willing to buy into most anything, aren't you? Actually it probably is the first time the National Guard has ever been asked by a 3rd party to watch a military operation while having absolutely no authority to interfere, take part, or do anything at all other than sit under a tent outside the restricted area. It certainly is not a good reason to activate. But if you want/are able to cite other instances, I will retract that statement. Asura.Kingnobody said: » So? Wouldn't you feel unsafe and insecure when a military operation, even if it's for training purposes, were to happen next to you? How about next time, you ask the US Military to conduct training exercises in Denmark and see if you won't ask your military to watch over things. Not at all. Military operations happen every day and most civilians are oblivious. Anyone that lives next to an Air Force Base knows this, apologies to anyone living in Bossier City, LA. I know those B-52s shake the walls. Offline

Why would you feel unsafe with a training exercise near you? Don't the military work for civilians and are made up of civilians who have elected to serve? It's what I hear from the rhetoric mills so I'm just looking for clarification.
Considering many of the people who reside in Red states are big pro-military types who unabashedly fawn over anyone who has a claim to service why would these people near you be cause to feel concerned? Offline

Cause the government/military complex is taking over Texas that's why !

Saw this about a week ago, McConnell is determined to extend the NSA bulk data collection for 5 years, despite the fact that the President, the House, the populace, and the CIA have all called for its end. Not really sure why McConnell is so bent on extending it, maybe he just doesn't want to do anything Obama supports, or maybe he wants Snowden to be a traitor that accomplished nothing, instead of just a traitor. Either way, its going to be quite the showdown in the Senate. Shiva.Viciousss said: » Bahamut.Milamber said: » And Mitch McConnell doesn't care! Something I don't trust about a 20+ year incumbent who co-authored SOPA. God damn, I go out drinking for a few hours and miss 4 pages?!

Considering:
A. it doesn't play embedded. and B. it's from a TV show then yeah, it doesn't really belong here, but we have much worse so let's take it for a spin: let's take a side note from our defense spending, and take a moment to realize how many countries in the world benefit from that and don't have to spend as much in that field because of it. Not to mention that Japan is basically our doing, they are what they are today because of the US for better or for worse. Thank you for telling me the video didn't play embedded, and since the video was the whole point of my post; I've since deleted it. So thank you again. I appreciate that. Now I'll go back out of this thread and leave it to everyone else. :D Terraka said: » Thank you for telling me the video didn't play embedded, and since the video was the whole point of my post; I've since deleted it. There's no need to be scared, there are at least, like, two people in here that are nice. Considering how many people rely on the military and DoD for their livelihoods in TX I'm flummoxed at this response. Bahamut.Kara said: » I have no idea why people are touting insecurity and safety issues in a state that has the second most military bases in the US. It's not like they haven't been exposed to many, many military training activities before but (like Vic stated) most are unaware unless they live near an Air Force base because planes are a little obvious. They also *gasp* cross state lines in some exercises. Considering how many people rely on the military and DoD for their livelihoods in TX I'm flummoxed at this response. I've been told that this time the Democrats are finally coming for our guns and bibles for some reason. I was told this repeatedly when Clinton was President, too. When the training activities are over, these same morons will crow on and on about how they stood up to Obama and made his jackbooted thugs turn tail. Considering how many people rely on the military and DoD for their livelihoods in TX I'm flummoxed at this response. There are too many crazy people in the world who thinks that they have to make a stand and must do it as publicly as possible. What better way to make a statement than to attack a military exercise where the soldiers are firing blanks or nonlethal ammo. Haven't you noticed (probably not, seeing how you ignore every single time I mentioned this) that I'm not saying that this is to protect Texan citizens from the US Army. I'm saying that this is to protect both sides from *** from both sides. You may not understand it, because you aren't a citizen with a big target painted on it like the US, but there are too many whackos out there that will see this as an opportunity to kill as many people as possible and create a mass turmoil. It has happened far too often lately. Offline

Best thing about environmentalists I've ever seen:
YouTube Video Placeholder It's official, result of the UK general election is a majority Conservative government.
