Both things of which I'm a big advocate. Stop fighting me on things we agree about with semantics! Siren.Mosin said: » Seraph.Ramyrez said: » help these areas They're already in a welfare-heavy city in a welfare-heavy state, so clearly that's not solving anything. The over-policing of petty drug offenses might be worth looking into, though. Mosin really thinks that because of something that happened 200 years ago, it justifies violence today in an unrelated issue.

You have to allow for the possibility that the reasons for the rioting are valid, even if the action of rioting itself is wrong. Offline

I mean, the English are one of our biggest allies and there are still Americans that hate the English over things that happened 200+ years ago... Wait, are we seriously using the "my people were once oppressed!" schtick as a means of debasing the reality that blacks are oppressed/discriminated upon?
Ah yes, the 'my Irish ancestors were treated WORSE than blacks' card. How long ago was that sir? Oh, 150 years ago. BUT IT FEELS LIKE YESTERDAY. The reality is today if you're Irish you're safely under the amorphous 'white' umbrella. Seraph.Ramyrez said: » Oy vey. Was not the intent. just trying to help! As much as there are things I would like to stand up against, I can't seem to find the motivation to rob, loot, steal, plunder, pillage, or otherwise destroy innocent peoples lives and livelihood to "protest" against an act of violence.
No one does this kind of ***when kids are raped, beaten, starved to death or commit suicide. So why do people argue that this is some kind of valid response, just because of race? The reality is today if you're Irish you're safely under the amorphous 'white' umbrella. Everyone's ancestors were oppressed one way or another. Saying that your's were as a reason to cause/drive hatred in a community is a very poor excuse, because, guess what, so was everyone else's, including those who you are fighting against. The plight of black people today has virtually nothing to do with the notion that 200+ years ago blacks were slaves.
