(CNN)Had Mitt Romney defeated President Barack Obama for the presidency in 2012, Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl might still be a prisoner to the Taliban in Afghanistan.

"I don't think I would have made the trade," the 2012 Republican presidential nominee said Thursday on NBC's "Today Show."

Bergdahl was charged Wednesday with desertion and misbehavior before the enemy, about nine months after he was freed by his captors after Obama agreed to release five Taliban prisoners from Guantanamo Bay. One of the prisoners had tried to contact the Taliban from his captivity in Qatar, according to a Director of National Intelligence report.

Romney said that while the U.S. military has a policy of "leave no one behind," the U.S. also has a policy of not negotiating with terrorists*. And Romney suggested the Taliban prisoners represented a threat and should note have been released.

Romney added that Obama should have consulted Congress before making the swap.

Romney briefly considered a third presidential run earlier this year but quickly bowed out, calling for a new generation of political leaders to take the helm and lead the GOP to the White House.

But would Romney consider the No. 2 spot?

"I don't think anyone wants to be V.P.," Romney said on NBC.

There have been reports that Jenner, an Olympic gold medalist, plans to transition from male to female. However, Jenner has not spoken publicly about any such possibility.

Many television viewers took to social media to voice outrage. The hashtag #iHeartRadioMusicAwards rocketed to become a top trend.

Religious freedom restoration. Prohibits a governmental entity from substantially burdening a person's exercise of religion, even if the burden results from a rule of general applicability, unless the governmental entity can demonstrate that the burden: (1) is in furtherance of a compelling governmental interest; and (2) is the least restrictive means of furthering the compelling governmental interest. Provides a procedure for remedying a violation. Specifies that the religious freedom law applies to the implementation or application of a law regardless of whether the state or any other governmental entity or official is a party to a proceeding implementing or applying the law. Prohibits an applicant, employee, or former employee from pursuing certain causes of action against a private employer.

The difference in the law in Illinois is that it ammended that law to not allow businesses to discriminate based on sexual orientation. The governor of Indiana specifically stated that it is not on his agenda to ammend the law in any such way nor would he.

The people in favor of the law specifically state that the main reason for this is so that businesses revolving around weddings do not have to cater to homosexual weddings and also so that people would not have to let a man into a woman's bathroom. It's specifically set up and marketed under those purposes and people have not been all that shy about it.

To be fair there are other laws out there like this already but this one comes at a time when this is a hot button topic and its taking a lot of heat and will continue to do so. It's hurting them a bit as well.

Eh, it's just an opportunity for liberals to rally their base over a false narrative of "Hateful murica is out do get the gays again". There is no text in the law that permits discrimination based on sexual orientation, only one that protects people practicing their religious freedom. If you want to argue that we shouldn't allow people religious freedom, by all means do so, but don't hide behind this BS when you do it.

Exit question, if you're part of a religion that believes homosexuality is wrong, what should you do? Just not go into business?

Before someone comes in an simply replaces sexual orientation with race, could you also give me an example of an active religion that thinks being born black is a sin?
