I was listening to it on the radio as it was happening. The news guy said people were bloody and several went limp. I'm assuming that meant knocked out.

Good luck trying to find a news source after the fact that isn't biased one way or the other.

Sounds like a saturday night at any given seedy bar.
Not endorsing violence or disruptive behavior on any account, but certainly doesn't seem as awful as most seem to be implying.

Are there any articles out there that are relatively neutral and objective in reports of the protests in Chicago? It seems both sides have the truth skewed and stretched to fit their perspective.

Best I got was seeing people on the news freaking out, while /r/Chicago saying it was not even that big a deal and not even remotely close to the "riot" news anchors and journalists seemed to imply.
I would check the Chicago tribune and any alt weeklies they have.

Last I saw 2 cops and 3 others hurt. No idea what or how severe the injuries are nor which side the civilians were on. Sounds like a black Friday sale level of riot.

Considering that a rally should be safe for the entire family and not a seedy bar scene, it is kinda awful.

When you incite division and feed people's anger with such emphasis, you kinda should expect to reap what you sow.

Not saying it isn't a terrible thing that happened, just simply that actuality is far misaligned from what's being reported.
Big name news love their false hype and overblown exaggeration; we all know this.

More excuses for the left to act out in anger. I don't remember this happening when Obama was doing the exact same thing.

Trump's words feed hate on both sides. It's detrimental for everyone.

Expect that to keep happening around him. He creates it.

You're not wrong, but I still think being violent and disruptive at an opposition rally is a pretty shitty thing to do. Regardless of what garbage flows out of Trump's mouth, it in no way warrants being rude or throwing fists. (Mind you this applies to both sides)

Elections should be a battle of wits, and fighting each others with ideas rather than a physical version of an internet argument.

I'm possibly the most pacifist poster here, don't need to tell me that.

I say that mostly because Trump is playing a game with both his supporters and opponents. He feeds off both unconditional support from his followers and the vitriol of his opposition. He appeals to emotion rather than logic or reason, and to play that game against him would be like throwing water on an oil fire.

A few articles on the protest, Trump, and Sanders.

Inside the Protest That Stopped the Trump Rally

The plan worked better than they'd ever imagined. Then the trouble began.

Politico. The writer was with the protesters to cover the protest. So on the floor eyewitness. I saw no bias as far as I read.

Trump: Sanders is responsible for violence

Politico.

Trump threatens to set supporters on Sanders' rallies

CBSnews

This is how it started in Germany. Organized violence at political rallies, then setting thugs on political opponents.

I wonder what color shirts Trump's "supporters" will wear. Brown is out of fashion.

I'd be all for there to be a requirement to take intelligence, culture and sanity tests for anyone who wanna pursue a political career. I'm fully on board with Plato and philosophers of enlightment as in a government should be made of only individuals of higher mind.

I have to laugh at how Trump was adamant about arresting protesters, similar to how he constantly threatens to sue those who speak ill of him, only to chicken out of actually doing anything shortly thereafter.

But what's most frightening is his idea of essentially snuffing out any opposition or protest in the first place, only to suggest doing it himself? I mean, what in the actual ***? Either everyone is entitled to protest or nobody is; you can't have it both ways.

This is stuff that happens consistently with nationalists all over the world.

It's good that people don't stand for that, although that shouldn't be the way.

It was wishful thinking. Sadly the majority will appeal to emotion far more than they will to intelligence or open-mindedness.

Chauvinism to be blunt. That's the short and long of it.
I'm not saying don't be patriotic, but extending it far beyond it's purpose is *** dangerous and scary as hell.

As long as they get the sandwich of fate textures down right.
Disheartened assassination attempts can only be remedied by a delicious, high-definition sandwich. And of course good intentions with an ill-informed chauffeur.
