Well hey, Sri Srinivasan is the front runner, and he was appointed to his current appeals court by the Senate, 97-0.

Sounds about right, His father was also not born US citizen, he wasn't born in the USA, and he would be the first Indian-American (because PC) on the SCOTUS. Seems his mother doesn't have a name(that I care to dig for) and was most likely not born in the USA.

Go America!

Fox has drawn me in with its diabolical click-bait.

Seems Democrats think that Viagra is the same as ending human life, and that Female Viagra (Sildenafil) doesn't need to have the same strings attached. I'd call hypocrisy, but nobody understands that word..

Kentucky lawmaker's bill would require men to get wife's permission for Viagra

lame duck

A lame duck is someone whose successor has already been chosen. Obama still has the better part of a year until the election, plus a couple months after that where he is still the President.

Try to use terms correctly. Words mean things.

It most certainly is the correct usage. Obama currently has little power to do anything with significance. Both houses of congress are Republican dominated and the political atmosphere across the USA is swinging towards the right. President Obama is a lame duck and he knows it. Now if either the Senate or the House of Representatives was Democrat, or the political atmosphere was most left leaning, then he wouldn't be a lame duck.

The term "lame duck" is used to reference someone who, while still technically holding office, has little to no real power left due to political circumstances. It doesn't require their successor be chosen or even that they be in a democracy. A minister in some random country who was politically appointed but little more then a puppet is still a lame duck.

This is correct in terms of Obama, 4 days ago (although technically he could've gotten crazy with executive orders if he really wanted to). The power to appoint a new Supreme Court justice is one of the most powerful things a president can do, and hope to do. It has a lasting effect that goes beyond ones Presidency, possibly for decades, and cant be revoked in any fashion. And with the current makeup of the court it could make it lean Liberal. This might be the most significant thing outside of Obamacare that will have happened inside his presidency.

The simple fact that congress has to filibuster this proves that he still has relevance. If he didn't, there would be nothing to filibuster. And if they succeed in filibustering this for 250+ days, it would be the longest delay of a supreme court justice ever, by more than double the amount of time. Good luck.

They don't have to filibuster. They can simple go through the whole process which can take 3-4 months and then say, no. Then Obama has to choose another. Rinse and repeat until new President is elected.

Totally legal under the Constitution of the Untied States. Everyone knows this and it is hilarious the politics being played on both sides.

I didn't know it was considered racist to believe that American born people with American born parents should be the only ones serving on the SCOTUS. Guess you're racist...

Why don't you point out a specific hilarious argument someone has made in respect to Obama appointing a nominee on the liberal side. I find it hard to imagine a hilarious argument someone can make when its simply a matter of Obama's job. If that happens here. Then quote someones hilarious argument.

Let me remind you again of what you said

Quote:
Everyone knows this and it is hilarious the politics being played on both sides.

Why is what so hard to understand, what are you even talking about?

Why are you cutting up my quotes into phrases that make it incoherent? I said it was his job in respect to the fact that it wasn't funny. Chopping up my quote to make it sound like I'm accusing you of not knowing its his job is dishonest and not something i ever argued.

Your goal appears to be to present the image of being correct rather than have any sort of intellectual conversation.

Whether or not they decide to use a filibuster or any other means doesn't disprove my point that it proves he still has power/relevance. So why are you even bringing this up?

The second supreme court chief justice was the son of an immigrant.

John Rutlege

In altimaworld he would have been disqualified.

Alti is just making a point against identity politics.

We don't need to nominate someone because of their ethnicity. That's half of what's being sold here and it's just stupid...

Good thing his ethnicity wasn't relevant in his confirmation for the DC circuit of appeals and wouldn't be relevant in his confirmation to the SCOTUS.

Republicans are going to be faced with an agreeable candidate and will have to throw everything at the wall to see what sticks all the while accusing the other side of playing politics, i.e. their usual tactics.

I cut up your quotes to make it easier for you to understand my points. But, it appears that doesn't matter since you don't read them anyways. Every single question and argument you have made I have answered in the past 3-4 pages and proved wrong everything the President and Democrats are turning into politics.

I am not Going to Repeat myself for you AGAIN.
