Random Politics & Religion #00
The one he likes.
The most progressive stance she's ever had on guns was the national registry, and in 2008 she turned over on that one. She didn't publicly support the assault weapon ban and has made no other steps on the issue until the recent campaign where the most she's said is that she doesn't believe people should be able to carry guns everywhere (as in, gun free zones).
That's pretty far from progressive on the topic of guns. Caitsith.Shiroi said: » Name 1 candidate who isn't a liar Nausi. Some lies are worse than others, but he's attempting to boil every criticism of clinton down to a binary gender test. Caitsith.Shiroi said: » Name 1 candidate who isn't a liar Nausi. "They all lie, therefore when Hilary lies, I don't have to care." Hilary 2016 This is the very definition of a "low information voter". That's pretty far from progressive on the topic of guns. Did you miss the point last week where she said the Australasian gun buyback program was a good idea? Or did you just believe her in the next cycle where she walked it back? Jassik said: » That's pretty far from progressive on the topic of guns. Matter of opinion. Not to mention that your assessment isn't exactly accurate. At the least she is not pro-gun. Blatant liars who are also frontrunners are going to get more flak for it than the others.

At the least she is not pro-gun. My assessment is the opinion of political analysts. What do you consider the ground between outlawing guns and making them mandatory tableware? In our current vernacular, anti-gun would be limiting people's right to bear arms in any situation or place, pro-gun would be? Honestly, I don't really care. Clinton is moderate across the board with very few exceptions and basically all of those popped up in the last 3 months. Nausi must be happy he has the excuse ready for when Clinton wins. Because sexism.
Can't be that people disagree with him. That's impossible. Ragnarok.Nausi said: » And that makes your assessment immune to criticism? To be fair, people do a LOT more work to defend Clinton against accusations than they do saying what's actually good about her. We're left to fill in the blanks for why she has any support whatsoever. Bahamut.Ravael said: » Valefor.Sehachan said: » Nausi must be happy he has the excuse ready for when Clinton wins. Like I said, eventually, the race will shift to actual policy. Maybe then nausi's posts will have substance, but I doubt it.

Q: What's right with her? A: ... Well, she, uh.... Look, we just want to beat the Republicans, okay? More like Q: What's right with her? A: She isn't clinically insane. I think that probably a good 80% of the voters barely know what they're voting for. Politics isn't something that everyone cares about, even though they should. Everyone complains about it, but most have no idea of even why.
Some just check their hands to tell left and right, some just latch onto a single clause that they care about which could be for example gun stance, and others might just see Clinton and think oh I remember him I liked/disliked him. People like Clinton and Trump are so high on the polls also cause they have 1000% of the visibility compared to the others. And that's already a world of an advantage when it comes to the masses. Most people probably don't even know who Carl Carlson and John Cusack are...or whatever their names were. Setting the bar really high there, Jassik.

Jassik said: » If only the political parties were... I'm sure the booths would be full of people rushing to vote!
Jassik said: » Bahamut.Ravael said: » Setting the bar really high there, Jassik. If only the political parties were... Well, so long as people defend their horrible candidates because they want to see the other side's candidate lose even more, we're going to be stuck there. Only a nearly universal outrage and rejection of all candidates by both sides would actually do the trick. Until then, enjoy rooting for the team with the jersey whose color you like best, because that's all it is at this point.
