Can't place SS for what ever reason but as I attempt to log in it says "Terminated as error occurred in FINAL FANTASY XI. The installation path is not valid. (ERROR code: FFXI-9001) (-1)" happened after PC had an over night update and rebooted. idk if anyone knows whats going on please advised.

Does it happen even if you log in without Windower? Are you on Windows 8?

If it happens when you log in without Windower, something is wrong with your FFXI installation.

Google tells me this might be your problem:

interesting, so it would be safe to assume that even uninstall may not fix.

Could also be corrupted vtable, ftable, or similar file. That's the message I get when I have issues with those.
